Does the board think he's played his way into being a late round selection?
Yes.
He doesn't have a the typical prototype build, and that will undoubtedly hurt is selection -- despite his intangibles.
He'll go. Sure. Someone will take a chance on him.

He absolutely torched us (as I knew he would). I'm tired of reporters thinking players owe them. He wants to be left alone. Let him be.
He's sitting in a car, minding his own business. Reporters coming up to him during the middle of a freaking parade to interview him -- that seems more douchey to me than anything.
Can't even be left alone to sit in a car. Like I said, leave the dude alone. There's a time and place for everything, and this reporter is as clueless as the rest.

I still don't like Dykes and am a Patterson fan. I don't care how many games he wins.

re: Their season completed, what’s the Rant long term forecast for Kiffin now? Multiple choice

D. Kiffin averages 7-8 wins and eventually leaves for a bigger job in 4-6 years.
Or... 7-8 wins, caps with a big bowl, then jets before a scandal hits. So, all of the above.

Sounds like another UT bullshite smokescreen, invented to keep eyes away from UT once again pilfering the cookie jar.
Money, recruiting, and less leverage than its rival is why A&M left. I lived in Bryan and remember when it all happened.

The irony of this statement when you solely have Texas to thank for no longer being in the Mountain West Conference
Actually, we all know the legal ramifications that were involved. If by "Texas" you mean the state legislature, and in response to Ann Richards using her political clout to include one team over its rival. AKA the "Not without my Baylor" declaration that ensured one team gained admittance over another -- then yeah.
As TCU wandered in the wilderness, that was beginning to take shape, due to the monies involved. And you know how the state legislature loves to insert themselves in any arena dealing with potential money, as they believe it gathers them easy votes.

Bowtie was 100% sick of UT, primarily for two reasons...
One was disproportionate conference revenue sharing, and two was the LHN and the diminished rights package and leverage that A&M had. Not to mention its desire to run high school games that would give it a massive recruiting advantage.
The fallout of the loss of Nebraska and Colorado, and UT's hand in that. Then, utilizing the weakened conference position and using its weight to set itself above schools like A&M for success.
It was about UT's financial advantage. This West Coast horseshite is just that. It was about money, TV rights and recruiting. All of which make sense, unlike some he said/she said West Coast melodrama.

Right.
See, A&M left the Big XII to get away from UT, and because they legitimately believed they could compete. Hence the upgrades and coaching salary.
They're there to win. As foolish as a lot of other SEC programs thought/think that is, at least that takes stones. Instead of showing up for an L and a paycheck, which we all know the other SEC teams will be more than happy to oblige you.

I never said TCU belongs in the SEC. Nice try.
What I said was TCU understands that the SEC is the best conference in college football. Something UT doesn't seem to comprehend.
But we both know that UT doesn't actually care about any of that, and really only joined because they thought they would make more money. Since that's the only thing UT truly cares about when it comes right down to it.

Here's the reality...
TCU is a little scrappy school. An overachiever. Odds stacked against them. We know this.
Meanwhile, UT is about to get spit roasted as they take it from both ends, while another takes your lunch money and another bangs your sister.
That's your reality.
Which is why despite all odds, TCU will probably find itself in the Top 4 again long before you ever whiff it. Because at least we are cognizant of just how good the SEC is. I bet TCU is in the Top 4 selection before you even win a division title.
Your perceived Blue Blood status doesn't mean diddly shite to the actual SEC Blue Bloods. You're just another punching bag with a fat wallet.

So, you could've done the ND route and been UT, and had Matthew Mconcuaghkeyey all greased up on your sidelines until his hair plugs fall out.
Then Texas would've been Texas. Instead, you're just the old SWC or Big XII team with ugly uniforms in a better conference.

Better to learn this now...
You will never be SEC. Never.
You will always be some also ran that the conference added later. You will never be SEC and the blue bloods will never accept you.
Ever.
Because Texas isn't the South and you're just some SWC leftover. All you ever will be.

It's UT.
They think they're Alabama and expect to be undefeated every year, irrespective of reality. A better question is why anyone would want to coach there.

TCU has had just as many undefeated regular seasons as UT since 2000. And they don't wreck conferences or expect preferential treatment.

Kiffin can do well. He has an angle that he pushes that seems to work. Granted, he's not outright buying talent under the table like Freeze did, but he's competitive.
He's shown he can win. So has Freeze.
And for the bashing he gets, the administration hasn't had to take away his Twitter or confiscate his phone. So, there's that...
