Everyone outside of Auburn and for some weird reason Mizzou knows we had an immediate recovery.

If the first guy had recovered then you would have. But the ball comes out, touches a ref who was blowing his whistle like a madman, and Auburn had a player closest to the ball who stopped going after it because of the whistle.

I bet that sounded funny in your head. It should have stayed there.

The referees don’t need to blow the whistle until the play is over. A premature whistle causing some players to stop while others play on will still complicate matters with the new rule.

The key wording is "allow" and "consider"

Players are always taught to stop on a whistle. If a whistle causes one player to stop, while another player continues to try to recover a fumble, I don't see how a ruling on the field can be changed by that.

Why are people more up in arms with this screw job than the screw job the refs gave Kentucky at Jordan Hare by calling off a clear touchdown before halftime?

Because Arkan5as removed the ball 8 seconds after the whistle blew and the ref interfered with the path of the ball?

Because the only party that didn't frick up on that play was the one that got screwed. Bo "spiked" the ball backwards. The officials blew the whistle waaaay too early, made the wrong call and got in the way. Arkansas just recovered a fumbled ball.

Easy for most people to see why the result was wrong. Auburn fans tend to be "speicial" though so it's understandable that you can't grasp it.

How many times has someone gotten injured going for a loose ball?

Maybe the refs should let it play out for two extra seconds before they blow the whistle, just in case?

I dont have a problem with what happened because it looked like auburn players quit on the play and were not hustling to recover the ball.

Blame the whistle not the replay guy.

That's the problem..........if you keep playing, after whistles are blown, they could call a penalty for a personal foul.

guidelines for clear and immediate recovery are changing for this week following the Arkansas v Auburn game

Still sounds very vague. Wasn’t the lack of clear and immediate recovery the issue?

Arkansas fans do you remember that game we had where our running back dropped the ball before crossing the goal line and our wide receiver walked across the field (he intentionally was going for the ball but didn’t want to alert Arkansas players) and picked it up and they counted that as a recovery in review? It was clear but no where near immediate lol. I feel bad for you guys.

Arkansas should be compensated.

Exactly. I’m all for saving our compensation for next season some time when it’s least expected and potentially more meaningful than this weird arse season.

Most Auburn players were probably not even aware of the initial fumble and thought the play went as planned and was over when the QB "spiked" the ball, which was actually a loose ball still in play.

They should have been more aware. An Arkansas player recovered the ball. That should not have been held against Arkansas.
