Did ok at FIU, doing well at Oregon. Part of the Saban tree.

Aranda is too big of a gamble right now, IMO.

Yeah, he is not proven as a HC, but might be the smartest coach I have ever seen, literally.

so it's going to come down to whether they have proof that he's dipping his wick in the company ink.

This.... among other things. We can avoid Title IX altogether.

They'll choose among Aranda, Venables, Pittman, and Franklin.
Scratch Pittman, he’s not leaving Arky.

Don’t know why Venables name keeps popping up. I think he’s way overrated.

Franklin maybe, and his buyout is negligible (reportedly $3 million). I’m not so sure he isn’t Southern Cal’s first choice though, which would allow Fickell to take the PSU gig and stay east of the Mississippi.

That leaves Aranda, the guy they should have made the interim 5 years ago. He knows how the place operates - is that a good thing or a bad thing?

Replacing Ed O
Can LSU afford O's buyout?

No buyout, this has been determined already

At this point O still has the job and 7-5 will keep him in the loop with a good recruiting year. A win against A&M will go a long way

Woodward knows he has a leash but short one.

6-6 will be the end

Nothing focuses the mind quite like spending three days ... alone. In a pit. In a basement. It coaches the Tigers up to win - or it gets the hose again.

According to the The Advocate, barring any revisions over the last year-plus that were not made public, Orgeron’s buyout is 70 percent of whatever his remaining salary is. This year, the second of the deal, that makes his buyout $21 million.

Did the LSU AD help at all with organize assistant searches? Or did Orgeron just put some "help wanted" flyers up somewhere? trying to figure out what went so wrong so fast here.

Nobody really knows for sure.

That’s why it’s so important to hire a guy who can hire good assistants. I can guarantee you nobody got hired that Ed o didn’t approve of.

The main reason why things went bad for Ed though is his evaluation and development of players. Yes he’s brought on some studs, but we’re talking the three star low four-star guys. And prevention of attrition. And establishment of having a good culture. He just doesn’t know how to maintain a program.

So, if it happens soon...who ya feeling Tiger fans?

I'd take a swing at Luke Fickell. Then another swing. Then another.

If he says no 3 times, I'd see if Franklin was interested.

After that, I'd just promote Napier from the minors.

I wouldn't drag it out.

I would say Odom! Perfect fit for LSU! :)

Why are you saying Franklin is the fan favorite? He definitely is not my favorite. This will be nothing but an African American Les Miles

Remember when Orgeron reached out to Pete Carrol for help?

Just the responses. Out of that list I made, he would probably be the most accepted or least hated overall. And even though he’s not at the top of everyone’s list, he would be towards the top percentage wise. But ultimately it’s very mixed rn. That of course could all change depending on how the season goes, but if it were an announced tomorrow, That’s what I believe.

It’s not gonna be everyone’s favorite no. Nobody is going to be everyone’s favorite. There’s gonna be a melt. We’re not gonna hire a guy that’s going to be universally accepted . Even if we hired urban Meyer, there would be a melt right now.

Fickel is definitely on the list but I read he did not have interest in leaving the North East.

Franklin would not be the worst hire. I dunno the more I think about him, the more he grows on me.
This may be the best choice.

I say go for Odom he is the real deal for LSU! Arkansas need to get him out of Arkansas faster than they could to avoid another disappointed year!
