This is an agent paying a player not Bama paying the player. Unless we knew and allowed him to play Bama shouldn't be in much trouble. I would think worse case scenario is forfeiture of game but again after beating nD 42 - 14 who will you view as the 2012 NC?

Btw so far this is just allegations by yahoo sorts and not an in estivation by the NCAA correct?

Who knows. A few lost scholly's would be the best case scenario.

Or it could get/be ugly.

Hard to even make an educated guess IMO. NCAA is all over the place in their "punishments".

They'll have to clear some of those National Titles of their shirts, but other than that, probably not much of anything.

For some fans, that will be the worst form of punishment.

I do not doubt the documents are the real thing, but the NCAA has to have the ACTUAL documentation in their hands to prove it is authentic. They can't just look at a couple of images in an article and charge Alabama with wrong-doing. They have to have tangible evidence touch their fingers. Until then, they have to assume those images are fake.

To be fair, the Reggie Bush stuff was all agents/sports marketing guys paying him, not USC.

But it was also proven that USC officials knew about it and covered it up.

Probably the worst thing that could happen would be for Saban to say screw this agent/NCAA crap in going back to the pros

But no one knows that either

The best-case scenario is also the most likely scenario: absolutely nothing.

LOL with Alabama's retroactive disassociations that always materialize.

If the NCAA went in hard like they did with USC or Auburn, Alabama would be in serious shite. How many poverty-stricken parents of UA players ended up with jobs and new cars over the last several years? How many Bama players were driving identical new cars somehow?

All that said, I don't think the NCAA does the colonoscopy they could do on Bama. Thus, I think it'll range from nothing to loss of a title and prob.

The NCAA determined that at least one USC coach knew about it.

It's very similar to the Andre Smith situation I believe. Only, Bama actually played the game with the ineligible player unknowingly. (Of course, if they knew, then that's a different ball game. But no evidence of that so far.)

What, really, can universities do about these cats? Or, "pimps," as Saban calls them. It's a 2 party transaction between player and pimp.

I would think the most that could happen would be to forfeit every game dating back to the first transaction, including the NC. Big deal.

Know how I know you are stupid?

Nevermind.

Rhetorical question.
