Short term: Saban is at least somewhat distracted, gosh darn it.

Long term: Who knows.

They're forfeiting the season and ending the entire athletic program. Academics from here on out. Only good thinkers like the amazing duo of Bubba and Forrest.

ETA: Like this genius labamafam:

Btw so far this is just allegations by yahoo sorts and not an in estivation by the NCAA correct?

Not a single tree in Lee County will survive after this is all said and done.

Nothing to see here, just more media bias trying to take down the big boy on the block.

If no one talks then the NCAA can't do anything, even with all the evidence out there. Yahoo! Sports has gone on record saying they will not give the evidence they collected to the NCAA. And why would Luther Davis basically plead guilty to a felony charge by talking to the NCAA and revealing everything to them?

The NCAA can interview staff and players. If you refuse to answer or seem squirmy, they can use that against you. Refusal to provide them the documentation they can request is not a good defense.

When this story fades into oblivion in a few weeks, you know the way 99% of these do, I'll be sure to quote you.

LOL with Alabama's retroactive disassociations that always materialize.

This was well known long before today. As soon as my friend told me about it today the first thing I said to him was "didnt we report him to the NCAA not long ago for some shite like this?"

Sorry you dont keep up with college football like the rest of us on this college football message board do.

The players involved are in the NFL so they don't have to say shite to the NCAA. They can just say it's all bullshite and that'll be that. They don't even have to give the NCAA the time of day.

They can easily say no such documentation ever existed. What can the NCAA do but take them at their word? They have no power to subpoena records.

Except that none of these accusations have anything to do with the schools themselves.

They only thing they could ask a coach or school emplyee is "did you know anything abot this?" and they will answer "no" and thats about it. This is about agents, not boosters or coaches.

"If the NCAA went in hard like they did with USC or Auburn, Alabama would be in serious shite. How many poverty-stricken parents of UA players ended up with jobs and new cars over the last several years? How many Bama players were driving identical new cars somehow?"

You've brought up the questions, Scooter..you give us the answer, AND give us some proof to back your bullshite up with while you're at it.....right, I didn't think you could.
