Transfer. The never happened in the Twentieth Century to anyone, anywhere.

Physical therapy, surgery. Player does some commercial endorsements for the care providers, and comes back stronger and more experienced next year or transfers.

Do you actually believe that this travesty is just gonna apply to football? ANY sport that recruits talent will eventually fall into this quagmire. If an athlete is good enough to be sought after by one school, it'll also apply to the other.
I'm a huge fan of capitalism, but NOT in amateur sport...and that's what we NOW have

And? The NCAA was fighting a losing battle against NIL lawsuits. There was simply nothing they could do about it AND they were their own worst enemy when they selectively enforced NIL violations (see Johnny Manziel vs Todd Gurley or AJ Green)

The transfer portal is a far bigger issue IMO in CFB along with bloated staffs and even more bloated athletic departments.

college athletics, or at least major college football, has probably not been "as we know it" in my lifetime

I wonder how many additional associates UA will have to hire to TRY and comply with all that is needed. The player attention MIGHT be too much on making a buck instead of school or preparing for football. The HC's have another headache to try and resolve.

The ones that have been handling the Dodge relationship for player cars will just switch their focus.

Seriously?

99% of the fans of any school in the SEC aren't able to name an athlete on their track, swimming, soccer, gymnastics, rowing, tennis, cross country, or golf teams. I can't even name an Alabama baseball player. They have zero marketing value without putting the school's name or logo in the ad, which they can't do.

At first I was wondering why an offensive lineman would jump on this train, but then I see he's from the Southern University Lab School.

He probably already knows how this game is played.

If you want to amateur sport, go to your local golf course and cheer on the randos shooting 80+ or the local public high school to watch football or the local DIII where scholarships aren’t permitted to be given for Athletics.

Otherwise, nobody on this board has been alive to see amateur sport practiced at the DI or DII levels.

You know damn well bama will not break any of these rules.

You're right, but it's gonna ruin college sports as we know it. The entire thing is gonna start getting very messy, and there'll be problems we haven't even thought of yet. The sport itself will quickly become 2nd fiddle to all the bullshite that's gonna occur as fallout when this decision follows its course.

In regards to "cheating," we all know damn well this won't fix anything either.

There are still plenty of limiting rules in place for NIL that will get broken immediately, by nearly every major school (or their boosters) in the country.

Really?
Agents, contracts for endorsements, individual athletes receiving compensation when their "teammates" are getting none, athletes more concerned with their business ventures than their responsibilities as student athletes, family members becoming more involved with the relationship between school and athlete.....I could go on for hours, man!
Folks need to get their heads out of their asses about what's about to take place in amateur sports. Apparently there's little that can be done about it, but it doesn't make the pill less bitter to swallow.

I'm sorry but your point of view is clueless.

There will be track, swimming, and gymnastic athletes that rank in the top ten of NIL yearly rankings when said and done.

Their reach is international not regional.
