Bowers was a fine player, but that move he pulled on Shelton at the free throw line was pure chickenshit!

I don't know the rules, but if it's legal, then why would you not take advantage of that rule?

Well, the 94 team did beat Duke in the finals.

To the OPs point, when Arkansas played Ole Miss back in the Nolan years, they always had kids from Little Rock that weren't recruited by Arkansas. These dudes used to put up their career highs against us.

Ice had a dunk in Knoxville in 1985 that about tore the backboard down at the old Stokely.

No "Pete Maravich" on the OP's list.

Who could take over and dominate a game more than the Pistol?

He WAS the game!

Shaq

Shaq never managed to beat Arkansas.

Also, as SEC foes, Dale Brown went 1-13 vs the Hogs. He won the last game he coached against them -- by 2 points.

Charles Hurt for Kentucky...good player...but got Barkley thrown out of a match-up with Auburn in '83. Auburn had beaten UK by 8 earlier in the year at Rupp with Barkley in the lineup. Hurt gets him thrown out early in the rematch, and UK wins by 2 at Beard-Evans Memorial.

ETA...so he took over the game by getting Barkley ejected...so he couldn't take over the game.

While Kyle Macy only averaged 15 points per game his Sr. Year, he hit 91% of his free throws (104 of 114). So if the game was close, the ball was in his hands...and if he goes to the line it's virtually automatic.

Chris Jackson was the best college player I ever saw who could dominate the game when he decided he wanted to take over.

The Lee Mayberry, Todd Day and Oliver Miller years were what Nolan said his most talented teams. The 94 team did win it all but they never faced UNLV and Duke. Two arguably the best teams in college basketball history.

The Arkansas-Memphis rivalry was pretty epic there for a few years. Some really good games.
