re: Academic says we are past the tipping point. Civil wars in the west coming

We've been hearing that the debt is going to destroy us for 40 years...maybe it will....one day. I suspect 10 years from now we'll still be bitching about it, and we'll still be in better shape than anyone else.

I hear this bullshite lament and in particular the Chinese owning farm land thing. Big fricking shite. We live here, the farm land is here.....China is 6000 miles away. If push comes to shove we take it.
Stop this whining. We have problems, not catastrophes

What's more, at least 2 of the conspiracies in the King David Hotel bombing became Prime Minister of Israel.

Benz is a grifter. He spent 4-5 months in the State Department in 2020 and then marketed himself as some sort of insider.
He's a clown of the highest order.

The Hebrews were problematic for the Romans. Starting uprisings that forced Roman governors to beseech the emperor to use extra legions to quell them. It was seen as an existential problem until the Romans decided that it would no longer be an existential problem.

re: How Did Payton Do That In 2006
Posted by KiwiHead on 6/13/25 at 9:03 pm
Payton did not necessarily inherit a bare cupboard. He inherited a team that was nomadic the year before.
Haslett had good defenses and the core was there. Also he still had l on offense in Horn and Deuce. Also his offense was tailor made for Brees relying on high percentage throws. Plus he was very good in developing screen pass schemes which played into Reggie Bush's strengths.
Where he really lucked out was with the LBs that year..Fajita, Shanle and Simoneau played above themsves

re: How close do we think Iran really was to nukes?

Yep. This is a prime example of that if you shidttalk, be prepared to back up your threats or someone is going to post on you pre-emptively.
This is over the frickin Arabs (Palestinians) . Persians don't like them on good days. Iran used to have formal relations with Israel during the Shah....everyone got along, mostly.

Maybe they didn't miss 10/7

India Pakistan was always going to be a limited time. They were overdue for one of these "escalations".
Ukraine/Russia was bound to happen. Putin wanted the action and whether it was Biden or Trump he was going to make his move sooner or later.
This thing in the ME was bound to happen sooner or later. This is a lesson in if you make a threat, be prepared to back it up. If you fund pissants to do dirty work like Hezbollah and Hamas, don't be surprised if you get punched in the face for it.
Note to Khamenei: What happens 1000 miles away between 2 assholes should be of no concern to you militarily. You're not the Persian Empire anymore and your name isn't Cyrus, Xerxes or Darius or even Koshorow. It's between the Jews and some Arabs....shite dude, you aren't wild about either, anyway.

I'm not sure we ( U.S.) is in the least concerned about that. I think Israel is scared shitless about the improved range and accuracy.
re: So IRAN turned down Trumps offer to go back to the table
Posted by KiwiHead on 6/13/25 at 2:16 pm
Depends on what was on the table? I'm guessing that any "deal" was very one sided from their point of view . If they acquiesce to everything that the US and Israel wants, what do they get in return? Can they sell their oil on the open market? Do they have to wait until inspectors give the Good Housekeeping Stamp of Approval? How long does that take ? A year? Years? Decade or more? Does this mean that the U.S. underwrites their security since they would essentially cede their sovereignty to the inspectors who are no doubt going to be mostly Americans and probably Israelis?

I think that Israel was more concerned about the potential delivery systems that Iran had than the nukes per se. Range and accuracy. You saw the potential capabilities last year and you are seeing it now.

Did Mace mention that she is a rape survivor in her diatribe? If not, it's one of the few times.
re: Names of military bases being changed again, back to previous names
Posted by KiwiHead on 6/13/25 at 1:01 pm
Yeah, oh there was this WWIi soldier who did a brave thing so we will honor him, not the Confederate general who we used to honor....his name just happens to be Bragg too.....and he was stationed at what was called Ft Bragg.....too.

Wouldn't have a problem renaming Benning after Gavin....at all.
Look, we want to accuse loony leftists of rewriting history, but the effort of the Daughters of the Confederacy and others like them 100+ years ago did very much the same thing. Rehabbing memories and polishing up terds from the Civil War era.
I've had a problem with Braxton Bragg for example for 30+ years. Fukker was a cancer on the battlefield. Henry Benning was not really much better....and they get to be honored in perpetuity with bases that train our soldiers? Bragg deserved scorn.....Benning deserved irrelevance as did John Brown Gordon from a military standpoint.

That's my problem. The list above goes back 30 years. Yet, thus far no nuclear weapons.

The problem with that assertion historically is that we have been told this for at least the last 15 years but they have not produced or obtained one.
They could have purchased one from the Russias, their next door neighbors in Pakistan could have supplied them with the tech...but thus far they've never unveiled it. The Israelis have been threatening to do something for at least that long as well.
I'm not discounting , certainly if they showed off for the world you have a bigger problem. Just seems a bit suspect. I think though the actions last year probably changed the equation because they proved they had some competent delivery system to get a a missile that far.
This may be pre emptive because of improvements made on the missiles more than a concrete knowledge of a real nuclear device.
