Calling someone an "Uncle Tom" is NOT derogatory. The Uncle Tom MYTH was a big LIE made up by the white slave owners. Uncle Tom was a slave that REFUSED to beat other slaves. He escaped his slave owner and helped other slaves escape also.

The slave owners were so afraid that if word got out about the heroics of Uncle Tom, other slaves would follow suit, so the made up the BIG LIE, that Uncle Tom betrayed his fellow slaves. This is what is NOT taught in history books along with a shite load of other things.
