Looking at the schedules, it looks like we'll either bring back the year ending Battle for the Golden boot and Mizzou/Oklahoma pick up their old rivalry to end the year. Or y'all keep doing your border war thing with Mizzou and we'll close out with Oklahoma.
If they're going for "rivalry" week matchups the historic meetings favor LSU/Arkansas (69 meetings) and Oklahoma/Mizzou (96 meetings) over Arkansas/Mizzou (15 meetings) and LSU/Oklahoma (3 meetings)

Our true permanent rival is this money whoring conference. - Drewbie

LSU here. Loved in Louisiana 20+ years and in-laws are all Tigahs. Day after Thanksgiving used to be a lot more fun. Not to mention we were actually more competitive in the Battle for the Boot.

Mizzou doesn't have a rival in the SEC. The Arky/Mizzou game this year was at least spirited when the teams had a little skirmish but there's no real hatred between AR and MO.
The addition of OK to the SEC could possibly lead to a rivalry with Mizzou if Mizzou can build a program that's capable of reloading enough 4-5 star talent every year but if the past is any indication of Mizzou's future the level of talent required to compete with OK on a yearly basis is probably not happening.
The record all-time between Mizzou and Oklahoma is Oklahoma leads, 67–24–5

The SEC is going to keep the battle bland rivalry between Arkansas and Missouri at the end of the year.
LSU always wanted to get out of a forced trophy game with Arkansas and the Aggies was the more ideal opponent for an escape.
Arkansas is the Milton Waddams of the SEC when it comes to true rivalries.

Ou and Mizzou have history. Record reflects a decade or two of Mizzou walking away from football (Babs). It’s a different landscape now. Mizzou fans would be excited regardless. Would be better than having two uninterested parties like the game with Arkansas.

I think LSU/A&M made some sense for a year end rivalry game and it's grown a little bit over the last few years into a nice back and forth on the field and between the fans. But with Texas arriving obviously that bumps the series down a tier.
Arkansas and Mizzou seemed pretty evenly matched programs for a rivalry to grow from.
But with the new look of the conference, it probably makes the most sense to pair us back up. I think we probably go back to Friday. Y'all are still playing it, I always hated it and was happy to get away from it. Maybe it won't be locked into a 130 or 3 pm game with going away from CBS.

Why not just play OU? I get no history, but dumping them to Mizzou and taking the easier team is kinda meh

Both are on our schedule next year. It's a matter of sorting out when.

Rivalry denied.
Our only true rival will always be Texas. I honestly do not care who last game is.

I still hate Arkansas for ruining so many Thanksgivings for me. I way prefer playing them earlier in the year, they are way less scary that way.

Arkansas is vastly inferior to both, but understandably it's more palatable to be the whipping boy for a program like LSU.
The SEC has decided to humiliate them by showing their inferiority to Missouri on an annual basis.

I like LSU vs OU at the end bc then there is a higher chance of being a hyped game. We hardly get two ranked teams square off rivalry week. But they are less than a rival than Arkansas. Would still watch either.

I prefer the lsu game. There was a lot more energy there that led to some very good games.
Our game this year was a good example.
