I happened to pick a random poster to respond to. Wasn’t directed towards anyone specifically. I’m all for all shapes and sizes.

I’m fine with it if you don’t look like a bag full of crescent wrenches.
Several convenience stores accept EBT. I’ve asked several clerks what customers use it for. They said energy type drinks, jerky etc. I was told that several of their regulars said they had more than they could spend on grocery needs. They also said folks would buy items to resale for cash to use on other items.

This sums it up. Love or hate Trump, you know where you stand with him. He’s blunt and will say it to your face. Obama, in my opinion, had a glad handing, very inauthentic persona. Professionally, I found it more productive to work with someone who will call you an a** to your face rather than behind closed doors. At least I know where I stand and I can work with that.
We downsized our house when last one left for college. Got rid of everything except green egg. Love it. Grill, smoke, oven fired pizzas. I have a cast iron griddle that i throw on for smash burgers, bacon.

I would argue that most of the polarization in the country is the result of left leaning media. Heaven forbid one of the dozen outlets shift to right leaning.
All I want is objective, un-editorialized, non-opinion based reporting. Put your personal views aside and provide facts. Let the public decide how to interpret vs all the CNN analysts.

She acts as if she is overcoming injustices daily to survive. In the corporate world, she has the golden ticket. Woman, fairly attractive and minority. In today’s world, she will be given every opportunity for advancement over more qualified candidates. She’s not in a position to talk about crap.

I would argue that toddlers have more common sense than these folks. Young children know when they have done something wrong. These folks try to rationalize for their own purpose. They know it’s wrong but can’t get past their own biases, interests to admit it. None of these folks should be in a position of leadership.
Using her logic, I have the right to run anyone off the highway that invades my space. Good to know.

This is someone elected to legislate the collective good of the country. No wonder nothing gets done in congress. All emotion, theatrics and no rational/analytical thought process. Term limits and salary caps for those want a be influencers.
Social media, cable entertainment news, judicial politics have created the unrest in this country. If you are an immigrant or certain demographic, everything is portrayed as defending yourself, fighting oppression … every response is justified if you are disrespected. Should have been nothing more than a brawl between high school rivals but was elevated because he was conditioned to think it was justified.
I’m all for helping folks less fortunate. I will never understand prioritizing folks entering illegally over citizens. That money could have helped so many citizens. Or that money could have stayed in the bank accounts of taxpayers. Cali seems to spend like a teenager with their rich daddies credit card.
Can’t take anything for granted if you have a peanut allergy. Bought a frozen lemonade at a baseball game. Just happened to look at label while opening. Processed in plant with peanuts. Same with a lot of canned vegetables.
Live in a fairly restrictive HOA. Mix of retirees and young families. Younger folks view everything as their playground, older folks view everything as theirs to control. A little consideration on both sides goes a long way.
Thank god they aren’t in the big 10. AD would be issuing this statement every other week.

Just my opinion but most seeking a congressional seat are doing so for their own financial interests. Has nothing to do with serving their constituent’s. Politics is a business plain and simple. Earning money on the side or moving up within the political corporate structure.

I hate the premise of automatic tipping but this is how these folks make their living. If you aren’t going to tip at least the minimum on adequate service, go through a drive thru.

I think one of the largest drivers is the shrinking of the middle class. Both ends of the spectrum are becoming larger percentage of population.
Growing up we had doctors, city employees, retail workers, lawyers living on same street. Some had slightly larger homes, newer cars, etc but nothing too noticeable. Everyone socialized and seemed to be in the same boat trying to get by.
Today we have a wider spread between haves and have nots plus higher expectations for the minimum lifestyle standard. Creates a lot of division and focus on money.

My oldest got 34 on ACT. Thought financial assistance would be better but they wanted to go out of state. Received academic scholarship from school of choice but still very short of covering full cost.
1. Spent a lot of time googling and working with high school to identify and apply for small scholarships. $1000 here and there.
2. Worked with school financial aid. Pretty helpful. We had to take out multiple loans due to caps. Varying interest rates and yes some are very high.
3. Budgeted to cover housing out of pocket. Paid what we could on loans during the year.
One thing to consider is monthly costs at home went down considerably. Still graduated with roughly $20k in debt. We paid half when they graduated and they assumed the other half.
We will help going forward but we decided not to sacrifice 401k contributions. I don’t want to be a financial burden on my children when we retire and if we have health issues.

CNN is quickly becoming national enquirer. Hint of truth buried deep in opinion, theatrics, editorializing. Not everything is “BREAKING NEWS”.
If they would just report news without bias or opinion, things would be much better.
