Gus could be a great coach if he'd dig his head out of his arse and give the offensive coaches the same freedom to do their jobs as he's given the defensive staff. He won't ever do that and it will cost him his job. Auburn has no issues firing people with a big buyout

I hope that wasn't supposed to be a boast!

Dude, even with our hiccups, we are the most overachieving football program in the history of the planet. That's why Georgia fricking hates us so much. They've spent 100+ years squandering their natural advantages in the marketplace of CFB.

Gus pisses me off because he himself is abysmal at recruiting, play-calling, and personnel management.

But on a level playing field, he would obliterate Saban.

Saban is at the only program in America where he wouldn’t be Tommy Tuberville reincarnate. 75% of his success has nothing to do with Saban or his coaching.

Lucky or not, if the Kick 6 didn't happen, the game would've gone to OT. Given that Bama's FG kicker couldn't make a FG even if the pylons were the uprights, Auburn still had a greater than 50% chance of winning.

And as far as I'm concerned, Aaron Murray never crossed the goal line, so the football gods righted a wrong. A game decided by an inconclusive play is even more BS than a fluke play...lucky or not, at least there was no doubt that Louis scored.

While I agree that Aaron Murray didn’t score, Gus is a complete bitch for allowing that game to ever come down to something like that.

It was basically the 2017 LSU game without some bullshite miracle to bail his dumbass out.

No. Georgia made plays to get back in the game. Was not lucky at all. Can’t say Auburn made a good play to beat Bama and Georgia was lucky to be in the game.

What makes Gus a good coach isn't his record, its how Auburn always comes ready to play and his team's offensive outputs. Gus teams rarely get beat by more than 14 and normally lose most games by a possession or less. I'm not here to say Gus is great yet but in comparison to other coaches he is pretty damn good.

No other coach in the league has currently beat Saban twice or even once. Yeah Gus has lost bowl games but they were to top 10 teams each time, so its not like he loses games to scrubs.

Losing to coach O was heartbreaking but to be honest the game was a lot closer than the 20 pt lead we had in the 1st quarter, the rest of the game was extremely close and if not for a block in the back on that punt return then Auburn would had that game as well.(LSU had zero offensive pts 2nd half)

I salute Gus for keeping us in games and our teams fighting to the end. His offenses have 2 of the top 5 most prolific stats in SEC history(2010,2013).

Auburn fans are a weird bunch.

They were ready to fire Gus after 2016, now after a season where Georgia and Bama outshined them, and Gus had 4 losses, he’s a king again.

I think Gus is a good coach when he has the personnel to run his offense...I don't think he's shown the ability to adapt his offense when he doesn't have the right players, in particular the right fit at QB...

Gus loses his shite when a defense punches him in the mouth and it just spirals out of control. He is too scripted IMO.

If u think the iron bowl Doesn't bring out strange happenings then u haven't seen many. He's beat Saban ,sure, but that dam game brings out the best and worst of players. It always will. Hell, tuberville lost 31-7 to a 6 win Bama team when auburn goes to seccg with win in 2001. Auburn beat a 10 win Bama team with a 3rd string tailback once. It's the iron bowl and crazy shite happens.

U can judge him better on non iron bowls. That game is too freaky. How's he against Arkie, LSU, ole miss, etc. Games that aren't as dam intense. No matter who the coach at Bama or auburn is, this game is always your booger bear.

You'd be hard pressed to find many AU fans who legitimately believe that. He has won some big games and has kept the program in relatively good shape (few arrests or scandals) and he's not dipped into the lows like the previous three coaches have.

He had us over a barrel with the Arkansas interest and I think most of believe we are better off knowing what we get with Gus than rolling the dice and hiring an unknown.

He's good at picking his nose on TV.

At least I thought I saw a pick.

Yeah, I thought I saw a pick.
