There is no difference between being ranked 4 and 5 right now.

You can’t have it both ways. If Clemson shouldn’t be in the top 4 because of how they’ve looked, Ohio St should be because of how they’ve looked.

Ohio State is ranked top 5 in both scoring offense and scoring defense. Name another team in the country that is as good as them on both sides of the ball

Against
FAU
Miami (oh)
Cinci
Neb

Are we supposed to be impressed?

Against a team that finished 5-7 last year and that is now 3-2 on the year. I have no doubt that Ohio State is good but they advanced in the rankings by beating a team with name recognition. Nothing more.

How many times do people have to say advanced stats support OSU as being damn good until people stop looking at this. Computer rankings have OSU #1 composite now too

FPI has OSU at #2, up from #13 in the preseason, with some preseason bias still in the poll.

They're giving up 222 yards and 9 points a game. Other highly rated teams appear to have pretty serious defensive issues. As others have said, right now they are the most complete team in college football.

Ohio State usually dominates their schedule this time of year, and then they'll lose to Iowa or Purdue or whomever. Looks like a typical OSU, with a typical OSU schedule iyam.

I like to sunshine pump as much as the next guy, but this OSU team is far better defending the big play than the 2018 team. OSU was giving up 80 yard rushes routinely last year (even to bad teams like Maryland Oregon State and TCU), and it was pathetic to watch. The defense is playing with a new attitude, which is great to see as an OSU fan.

They look like the most complete team because they haven't played a team with a pulse.

Don't really care but glad an LSU fan didn't start this thread.

Polls gonna poll.

They played a game this past weekend and LSU did not. Fair or not, sometimes the idle team drops in the polls.

Know how I know you haven't watched them. Last year they gave up 31 points to fricking Oregon State in the opener. Every team they played gashed them with explosive plays. That has been eliminated and the linebackers are flying to the ball as is the secondary. The defensive transformation from last year to this has been astounding. We'll see if it continues but the discipline seems to be there this year. There was never a question about the athletes.

tOSU is a blue blood and national name. LSU is neither. That’s why.

B1G bias

Too many B1G schools in the polls to warrant their on the field play

#4 / #5 Ohio State
#8 / #9 Wisconsin
#12 / #11 Penn State
#14 / #14 Iowa
#19 / #18 Michigan
#25 / #23 Michigan State
#34 / #30 Minnesota

1/2 the conference in the Top 30

W @Texas> W at home vs Notre Dame

It's close but since we won as a road team I give us the slightly better victory.
