Our dumbass fanbase just cost us a recruit going to Gonzaga. They won’t be satisfied until it’s all burnt to the ground at this rate.

I would like to thank you on behalf of all Gonzaga fans everywhere for your fan bases lack of tact and respect.

Why would Cal go to Texas?

Agreed. Isn’t that a big step down?

Dude. If cal leaves (big if btw)and if kentucky offers him the job...he's fricking gone in a ny second. Not even a debate about it. Kentucky is just a much better job and opportunity than Bama basketball is. Like u said, he's the second biggest job on bamas campus just like it is at texas.

How many fingers yall rolling with in Bama now?

UCLA and Indiana certainly aren't blue bloods at this point in time. They've both been dumpster fires for 2 decades and don't carry the cache anymore of their great 60's (UCLA) and 70's (IU) runs.

Smart was one of the hottest coaching candidates when he went to Texas and left for Marquette before all of his reputation got ruined. Texas is a dead end job, but a high paying one, especially now. Oats wouldn't consider it

Alabama's AD just offered the Pac 12 commissioner job and he politely said his home is in Alabama. Coach Oats quickly told Indiana no he wasn't interested in the job and gave a reason. He and his family love being in Alabama.

Turns out not all the south is swampland and mosquitos.

No, he's not. His ego is too big to walk away from here for a lesser job after the season we just had.

Texas wants a better coach than Cal. Dude has one NC in his 30+ years of coaching.

Also World Wide Wes is gone so we see how that is hurting him

I don’t think it is a slam dunk he would take the job. Much less pressure at Bama. If he can consistently make the tournament at Bama we are happy.

Are you delusional?

Kentucky is the best job in basketball. Alabama is not in the top 30.

Bingo.

Let's put in terms Bama fans might understand.

If Alabama wanted to hire Mark Stoops, would he go or would he sit and deliberate. This is literally the exact same thing. Cal isn't going anywhere, and all this speculation is dumb, but if we wanted to hire Nate Oats, we would. Sorry boys, that's reality. This is basketball, and we are Kentucky.

Doesn’t Oats have a rather large buyout? Someone is going to have to want him real bad

So are you saying Pearl would definitely leave Auburn if Kentucky offered him the job? I actually don’t think it is a slam dunk. Auburn gave Pearl a chance when no other program would. He has a job he can keep until he retires. Oats might think the same. Bama believed in him. Made him a multi millionaire and he can coach at Bama as long as he likes as long as he consistently makes the tourney with a run to the sweet 16 or better every few years. Maybe Oats would take the job, but I just don’t think it is foregone conclusion he would take that job and I am allowed to have that opinion.
