South Carolina has a few acres of mountains. That's it

Georgia beaches suck. Muddy water, brown shitty sand, and stinky water.

Cumberland Falls, Natural Bridge, Land between the Lakes, Pine Mountain, and Lake Cumberland are all gorgeous.

I’d throw in Laurel Lake as well. Vastly underrated.

Oklahoma- mountains (yes really) in the eastern part of the state, canyons in the west. OK has more scenery than people think it does. Great storm chasing west of I-35
So my impression of Oklahoma was always the prairie as I’d only gone up I-35. A couple years ago I drove from KC back to Texas and cut through the eastern half of the state. It was beautiful.
As for Texas there are actually 7 different topographical regions, from East Texas which is similar to Louisiana to coastal plains, hill country, and high desert mountains in the west.
I can’t defend Lubbock though.

I actually think each southern state has something to offer. I'd take any one of y'all over any of the northeastern states except for maybe Maine cuz I love lobster lol

Alabama is #1 with TN and GA closely behind. Fishing and landscape diversity can't be beat. I love LA and went to LSU, but Sweet Home AL is my retirement destination. Baldwin County itself has everything a man could want except mountains.

Tybee island is a dump i much prefer Alabama beaches over Georgia.
North Georgia is southeast Tennessee on the south side of a border, and is awesome .
Atlanta is not bad, but the traffic makes it a nightmare
West Tennessee is awful. Why do people in east TN say they are from east Tennessee
..
To.not be confused with the Flatlanders out west

Every Southern state has unique beautiful areas to offer. I'll put a sunny Sunday afternoon drive through the Kentucky horse farms outside Lexington up against any of 'em.

Tell me you've never been to Oklahoma without telling me you've never been to Oklahoma. Every region is beautiful except the Central and Western parts and for whatever reason that's what people associate Oklahoma with.

Right there with you guy. Left LA after school and moved to VA Beach. Now, ex wife, dragged me to AL when her parents moved there. We divorced like a year later and I ABSOLUTELY HATED it here. but it's been 10 years. I'm remarried with 2 kids now and own a 20ish acre camp here that I LOVE. and it cost about 1k/acre. the state is beautiful with beaches and mountains and woods and waterfalls. not a whole lot of urban sprawl but plenty to do (in Huntsville at least). great people. unless they're bama fans... ??
can take the boy out of LA but not the LA out of the boy.

I challenge any of you to drive from Orange Texas to El Paso in one day.
