PG was the coach when ole miss “made the playoffs” officially. Remember Lane quit on his team.

Did you mean coaching in a playoffs for the first time?

After 3 straight playoff appearances, 2 national title games and 1 national championship, he leaves for another shot at the NFL

I cant imagine possibly having a 2nd coach in 20 years not win a title for me then go to a rival and win one.
How does that rate versus seeing the coach who won your first national championship in over 40 years leave you only to go to Alabama and win six of them? One of them against you.
That actually happening would probably suck way more than your hypothetical scenario.

Pretty sure you’ll need to be on suicide watch when he does lol

So your claim is Pete Golding "made" the playoffs without having to coach a single game?

Here's my prediction on how the Kiffin tenure will end-----
He retires from LSU following the 2040 season with 7 national championships.

There’s no other way to spin it. . . He quit on Ol’ Miss.
Sumrall and the JMU coach both left their jobs and still coached in the playoffs.
Seems like Ole Miss couldn't handle rejection.

There was undoubtedly some strange happenings going on behind the scene (OM players refuting and seemingly rejecting Kiffin). It’s safe to say relationships were strained at that point.
But none of it matters now, does it? LSU has the coach they coveted, and OM has their new coach. So, go to your corners and may the best man win!

I don't care how he leaves or what he burns as long as he gives us at least 1 National Championship before doing it! Baby steps...

Not really. Because ole miss will never be back to wear they were with lane. Lsu didnt go anywhere.

Poor little webels have got their panties all in a truffle because Lane blew them off and left for a much better opportunity.

Of course, LSU could have waited until after the playoffs but that would have put them at a disadvantage building a new staff and team. So, while Lane quit on the team it was understandable since he’d already made the decision to move on.
This is factually incorrect. LSU said from the start that they would wait for Lane to finish the season, and coach his team. All they wanted was the commitment. Keith Carter forced Lane to “quit” by not allowing him to coach his team.

It will end like every other coach in the US... He will either quit, be fired or die.

Back to where? Making bowl games without winning even a conference championship? We've had plenty of coaches do that....
