Teaching my 16yr old (when he was 14) about importance of credit scores and saving money. We put 10% of everything he makes into an index fund which is currently at $590. Thats just money from odd and in jobs but the habit is there for when he starts his first job in a few weeks. I also have him as co-owner on a credit card, so he's building credit at 16 years old.
My kids will fully understand the power of compounded interest and see it in real time before they even leave our house. Imagine if we all started retirement savings accounts at 14 years old. :pimp:

This is and should be the way... Work your whole life to not enjoy the twilight years is stupid. If you raised your kids the best you were able and balanced a career then you go enjoy spending all that money. Its your money and you can't take it with you. Maybe leave the kids some property or condos or something that they can keep, leverage for rent, or sell for cash. But thats it

Ive been watching two as well.
1) One is obviously drugs and mental illness
2) the other is/was a doctor and she has slowly lost her shyt on the facebook resulting in losing her job a couple years ago and continues to post about it and how the world is against her.

The environmental impacts of data centers are often overstated. Depending on the site and cooling technology, the overall land-use impact can be relatively minimal. Water consumption has been one of the biggest concerns, but many of the newer hyperscale facilities are transitioning to closed-loop or recirculating cooling systems in response to public concerns and sustainabilitygoals. There is a localized heat effect around the facilities, but it is generally comparable to other large industrial or manufacturing developments.
From an economic development perspective, the real opportunity for municipalities extends beyond the initial property tax revenue. Forward-thinking communities are structuring tax agreements so that taxes are assessed not only on the building and land, but also when the computing equipment is replaced.
AI hardware,NVIDIA GPUs,, becomes obsolete in 2 years, with major technology refreshes often occurring every three years-ish. Much like replacing a laptop every few years, hyperscale operators continually upgrade their servers to remain competitive. When local tax structures capture those equipment replacement, communities benefit from recurring tax revenue rather than relying solely on the initial investment, creating a long-term economic tax gain ......instead of a one-time development payment. Our politicans just need to be educated.... bring me a data center over an ammonia facility anyday.

Bottom line is they are cheaper than HomeDepot and Lowes on appliances. They also carry a 5 year warranty for like $150 where the warranty at HD is $300 for 3 years...

Did Gerry DiNardo make it 2000 or was he fired in Dec 1999. He should be on this list... or at least honorable mention at No. 11. He was terrible.
My neighbor has a 2013 with 410,000 miles on the engine. He drives it daily.
