A solo vacation is the best reset since Nintendo. I don't even have to go far. Just go pond fishing for a day by myself and I'm recharged. A weekend trip is great too. I don't need more than a day or three.

Regardless of the earthen material used for backfill, you'd have to pile support the structures. Typically in south Louisiana brown/black clay soils.

Same way all the coastal erosion projects obtain dirt. Dredge material. They want to dredge to get deeper water boat access anyway. Win Win.

I see it a little differently. Some people choose to live simply and work less so they have more free time. Others choose to work more to afford a certain lifestyle.
I work a full-time job to support my family and investments, and I run a side business so I can afford side-by-sides, go-karts for the kids, and other toys. Those are choices I make. For most people, the balance between time and money is a personal decision, not one society makes for them.

As long as they don't look in the door pockets of my truck, glove box, center console, and under the seat, and tool box, and hell probably bed of the truck too. Shyt the last time i cleaned my truck the shopvac had a number of .22 rounds... i had to fish out.

This has little to do with Louisiana and more to do with deep pocket environmentalist funneling their money to fight battles in Louisiana. The people of Louisiana want the money and investment. These national think tanks come in providing millions of dollars and free attorneys to fight anything that they believe could hurt the environment.

I've had horse and its fine. Little lean. Considering how many horses we euthanize each year in the US, we should definitely have it as a meat option.

I pay for lodging/ flights and activities ahead of time so when the vacation comes; whatever i spend on the vacation, doesn't seem as bad. LOL

Teaching my 16yr old (when he was 14) about importance of credit scores and saving money. We put 10% of everything he makes into an index fund which is currently at $590. Thats just money from odd and in jobs but the habit is there for when he starts his first job in a few weeks. I also have him as co-owner on a credit card, so he's building credit at 16 years old.
My kids will fully understand the power of compounded interest and see it in real time before they even leave our house. Imagine if we all started retirement savings accounts at 14 years old. :pimp:
