So Missourians are reduced to one of these 4 choices
Arguing about whether a portion of the state is below a 250 year old line commonly used to include Maryland in the definition of the south
Pointing out how civil war battles took place in the state or claiming they were somehow the exclusive purveyor of bushwacking activity and conflating slavery for southern culture
Quibbling about which of a few counties touching northeast Arkansas somehow counts for something
Accepting the OP premise backed by data
I see 3 specious arguments beguiling to people who dont understand the south at all and one group of nice cornfed midwesterners who obviously dont belong and aren't even trying. This may be stronger evidence than the original study!
Legitimately didn't read this.
Shut the frick up loser.

No, I think the purpose of that map is it’s the clearest depiction seen yet of the dreaded “Kansas Rectangle”.

Your continued defensiveness in this thread is noted, yankee

OP is pretty dense. Let's try to explain it like he is in first grade...which is probably a stretch.
Your assertion is that our beloved Missouri isn't a fit for the SEC, yet you give no evidence to the contrary comparing our beloved Missouri to other SEC Schools? You simply think you are trolling us...fact is..we are simply reverse trolling you dipshit.
Pssst....we don't care what you good ole boys club think...we will just keep cashing those checks and doing our best to ruin your seasons. We've done a good job at both and have enjoyed our role in doing so.

You lost right there, pools are for the kids who licked the window glass on the short bus going to school.
I can simplify ...
Angry Kansas aka dirty bird fan posts on the SEC board.

Nobody in Kentucky claims to be in the Midwest.
We were in the Southern conference before being a charter member of the SEC. We are south of the Ohio and East of the Mississippi. South and East.
Sorry. Realized you were responding to Tardzana

Man, Sikeston is the deep south. I'm not criticizing, just pointing out that from Sikeston south in southeast Missouri, the culture reminded me of Mississippi much more than the midwest.

I have heard it said that Sikeston more like Mississippi than Mississippi itself. I think you could say that about the entire Bootheel.

Anyone here who argues that southeastern Missouri isn’t southern has clearly never visited that part of the state. On the other hand, anyone arguing that KC or St. Louis are southern has never spent time in the South.

More evidence the OP may be right......we aren't a fit ?
Yes, I know my own school benefits from that nonsense as well, but still..

I thought the Clampets were from Tennessee. Some place called Bugtussle?
I’ve seen a lot of Jethro types - plus a hundred pounds and minus the teeth- on my visits to UT.

I don’t care what the Missouri people choose to call themselves. They are not Southern and not SEC
