Good. Pete reached that milestone with no 3 pt shot, shot clock or illegal defenses. To me, its like Roger Maris home run record. In 1961, Dead bats, dead balls, no roids and MUCH larger ballparks than today.

Pistol Pete averaged 44 a game!

I watched him score 69 points against Alabama when I was in high school. If I remember correctly he scored over 40 points in the 2nd half alone! LSU still lost.

You can have that if you really need the win, I guess.

Despite shooting more shots, Pete's FG% was 43.8% vs Davis' 40.8%. That simply shows the impact of the 3 point line. Nice try, though.

Man I don’t think LSU could suck their dicks any harder if they tried.

Strange melt from you in this thread. Note that half the posts are from other fanbases. Pistol Pete is universally revered by knowledgable basketball fans.

I don’t get the rhetoric to this kid. He’s been a 37 percent - 40 percent career three point shooter. The records aren’t comparable but I don’t know why you need to disparage the kid in the process. Congrats to him on a phenomenal career.

Has anyone ever figured or estimated what Pete’s avg would have been with a 3pt line?

People have estimated he would have averaged well over 50 ppg. I think it is fair to say he would have averaged 5 threes a game, pushing his ppg to 50.

There are a lot of threads on the rant that fit this category. But this discussion hasn't been one of them. A lot of fans have been very specific in their stats on exactly why this is a nothing comparison.

If you want to shine because of NCAA stats in 5 years, then he had an outstanding career at the Detroit Mercy level of basketball.

If you want to compare him to Pistol Pete, then you had better bring a bigger measuring stick.

Lol, Maravich was averaging 38 shots a game. This dude was under 21. I bet Pete was fun to play with.

Good. That record should stand for all time. He did it without a 3pt shot.

I think it stands for 2 reasons.

Its an amazing record, video game numbers

The game is full of too many good players, defenses won't allow it to happen.

How about you stick to making posts like this
quote:

When you are black out and don’t remember meeting them.

How do you swing this into texting them a couple days later?

I went out on the night before Christmas Eve to the local bar and as it turns out I must have lost some memory from around 130-230 cause I got 2 chicks numbers that I don’t have any memory of meeting. One of the girls went to my high school but a few grades older so I have a couple buddies that know her and I think my other buddy knows the other one. They are both pretty hot

I’m a big fan of his as well, but cheering for somebody to not break a record is frickin pathetic.
