Now we have 6 to 10 five stars in the two deep rotation.. much deeper offensive and defensive lines.

What Bama should be concerned about is the big line of scrimmage advantage that they had is gone.. maybe more importantly the analyst advantage... knowing all of LSU plays in advance.. is mostly gone... Bama did get at least one TD from their analysts by faking Stingley with a check with me deception.. incidentally that did show that Bama knew they were in trouble when you have to scheme trick plays...

The offensive scheme advantage that Saban brought in with Kiffin vs Miles I formation is forever gone.

Now it is execution on the field in an even up game..

Bama and the rest of the SEC should remember that other then Burrow and the WR and CB the 2019 LSU team had the lowest talent level that LSU will have for several years.

Alright, cool

Alabama will be considerably better on the LOS in 2020 than 2019, especially defensively. Alabama's defensive front 7 was the youngest it's been in the Saban era, and quite possibly in the history of the program, in 2019.

If Ohio State, Clemson, alabama, Oklahoma, et al can have (and/or or be predicted to have) great seasons and be in CFP contention in consecutive years....'WHILE' losing starting QBs and other players, WHY CAN'T LSU ??????

ESPN has us TWELFTH in early preseason polls, but those other four are magically in the Top Five ?!?!?!?

When LSU becomes a perennial CFP contender and becomes a regular in the playoffs most every year regardless of the QB, then they'll get the early preseason poll spots just like OSU/CU/UA/OK.

This is absurd. LSU has played for a NC 4 times in 17 years and has won 3. That is better than 128 out of 129 of the rest of FBS. With 3 different coaching staffs and administrations.

To doubt LSU’s potential at this point is trolling or stupidity.

Btw.. because of injuries and suspensions almost all of the players moving to the NFL have been replaced by player who have already started several SEC football games. And the talent level of the number 2 people on the depth chart is way up.

Just curious did each of the SEC teams suddenly develop three shutdown corners? That is what it will take as LSU will be better than 2019 with Chase/Marshall/Trey Palmer/Gilbert as the receiver group. Bama Florida Auburn wont be able to guard LSUs receivers any better in 2020. So buckle up.

So good luck against LSU in 2020 and 2021.

Brady has been replaced with an NFL OC/QB/WR coach who has run the spread for 20 years. Brady had little if any coaching experience.. he is a great kid.. he brought something LSU did not have. Now the foundation has been laid. At this point can we develop Brennan.. will the players have the same huge commitment to offseason improvement. Will leaders like Burrow, Divinty, and Lawrence emerge in the offseason.

Most all of you guys misunderstand... the key point was Orgeron committing to the spread and getting the analyst group built up. There are plenty of coaches across a bunch of coaching trees that can coach and call plays for the spread. Including Ensminger.

LSU has plenty of potential - the 4 teams named have been to the playoffs multiple times with multiple QBs. If LSU does that with Brennan in the next 2 years they'll be lumped in that same category.

It's not difficult.

By recruiting rankings LSU will field more talented teams in the near future than in the recent past. That’s the point.

I'm not sure 'Perennial' is a word I would use to describe a playoff system that's only been around for a few years and has only included those few teams, plus Oregon and Georgia.
OU, UA, UGA and UO will have new starting QBs just like LSU.
And LSU returns just as many starters as those teams, esp. OU and UGA.
And OU had a new starting QB LAST year, but made the CFP.
I just think ranking the defending NC 12th is utterly psychotic....

Then again, as was mentioned by MC I think, this is the same group that had LSU behind OSU and Clemson after the 2019 season.

I think maybe 6th or 7th would be at least reasonable, but 12th ???

It will be interesting to see in late August where LSU, UA, UGA and UF will be pre-ranked in ALL the various polls....

Yes, and Ohio State bulldozed their way to a national title with a 3rd string QB.

Where did LSU wind up with this class, way back in like 3rd in the conference? After their one-off title season? I would have expected much better than that.

Oh ok. Yeah, anytime I’ve watched LSU in the last decade, the first thing that comes to mind is lack of talent.

Outstanding point.

Yeah, it's been a long time since LSU was littered with 3 stars. He did just sign his best class, on paper because 19 is gonna be tough to beat on the field, but it's just more elite not a huge step up.
