re: Ump squeezed him

Yep we put too much pressure on Anderson… but he is showing some effects of throwing 135 pitches last week. Hope he bounces back better next week
With the WW debacle LSU lost the entire roster. Near death penalty. Year two certainly the recruiting part of year two LSU BB still had the probation over hang.

LSU was 9 and 9 in a very tough SEC last year.

SEC got better. LSU poor voted it.

Avg NIL in the SEC was $750k per starter. LSU was at $250k. Whether MM is the guy or not. Those dynamics weren’t going to,bring winning basketball. The Cenac kid from New Orleans got $4 million to go to Houston LSU BB was recruiting and paying at a mid major level.

If Jalen Reid does not get hurt you probably win 2 or 3 more games and make the tournament.

None of this means that MM is the guy… but there are/were a lot more issues than just the coach.

No coach we want will come here without a much larger budget.

Basketball this year men’s.
The average NIL money for an SEC basketball starter was $750k. LSU limited the pay to $250k. We had zero chance.

Some teams were as high as $9 million NIL money.

If we do not increase the budget we will never get anywhere. And no one we want will come to LSU as the coach.

If Reid does not get hurt LSU probably wins 5 or 6 SEC games.

This team gets turned around with 2 or 3 top level players from the portal

Remains to be seen if McMahon can do that.
We obviously have a strong team… even a great team. The Purdue pitchers were throwing 86 mph or less. The CF dropped two balls in the first inning. Our starter threw 93 and by the 4th inning had dropped to 90 we have some work and growth to do for the SEC season
I do not think there is any circumstance that LSU hires will wade again.
He is obviously not a bad basketball coach from his track record if nothing else. He might or might not be up to resurrecting a team from the dead in a very tough conference with very little NIL money.
Name a program that turned over 11/12 players and was a winner the next year With probation still over hanging them. The program last year was competitive and 9 and 9 in the SEC.

And yes Houston is better. Far more money. But had lsu put up $4 million that kid would be in BTR

Whatever. There are far more issues in LSU basketball than McMahon
Well since we let go John Brady..an actual basketball coach…Trent Johnson and Johnny Jones pretty much buried the program. Will wade revived the program spectacularly.. but got caught pretty egregiously cheating. My personal opinion is that many programs were doing the same thing. Those programs were smart enough to deal through assistants and boosters. LSU got the death penalty. The entire roster left. I am sure that someone could have done a better job. Having said that we had the NCAA hovering over us and none of the best..not that I know who that is… coaches were coming to LSU. Completely different game now.. we lost the 5 star kid from New Orleans to Houston on a $4 million NIL deal. I do not know the answer today… more NIL. Better recruiting.. McMahon might or might not be the answer… but he is a small part of the problem.

Probably WH those 2
Freeman inherited a solid program from Kelly. Kelly inherited an absolute pile of crap from Orgeron
No one right now. No one would come here. Has to be an up and comer. That emerges in NCAA tournament. Just like mcmahon
Trent Jonson and Johnny Jones took us to new lows

Wade resurrected the program but got railroaded for what everyone else was doing… he was guilty unfortunately

McMahon is a good basketball player coach. Hard to recover from losing everyone. NIL? Recruiting in general?
Education that he WS going to get $10/$12 million
Hoping this is true. The deep threat wide receivers will help loosen up the defenses as well
I am not a fan of the LED lights at all. WiFi needs to be dramatically extended. Cell phone connectivity needs to be dramaticly enhanced
From stupid people. Saban WS unlikeable. Head coaches. Like CEOs have to lead and face the public and face many challenges trying to build teams with young immature people… usually great athletes.
Both burrow and Daniels had pretty good years before their breakouts. They were not mediocre
We posted back to back 6 win seasons. And had no line of sight to anything better.

Now we have won 10,10 and8.. we have an excellent recruiting class. We have a top five QB coming back.

Already have significant portal additions

Much much better
Way less drama. Roster built intelligently. Great incoming class. Positive future
