Nussmeier was hurt. In his junior year we had a middle of the pack receiver group. The SEC figured that out and made it difficult. We had zero no running game junior or senior year. Against string teams. Nussmeier had to lead an offense that could outscore TAM and Bama. And others. He could not do that… embarrassing lack of running game was part of that. As a senior the injury limited him With Longstreet we have viable back up and maybe next year starter.
Kind of amazing the talent decline at each level of the defense. Cannot set the edge. Cannot pressure QB. Cannot stop QB power. Or Zone read either. Other than Perkins freshman year we have not been able to pressure the QB against good team for at least five years
We had a lot more talent overall back then. Including an offense that could move the ball at least somewhat
So the coaches pick LSU 6th in the SEC. Implies an 8/9 wins and no playoff berth
After his freshman year. Brown did not recruit and our roster was weak… freshman year… peaked a little early and Chris Jackson decides to tell the team he is leaving before the Georgia tech sweet sixteen game.
He did hurt Orgeron and lsu in the blm year. 2020 I think
Our starting pitching Evans cooper Moore gets hurt or significantly underperforms expectation. Bullpen does not develop… several key defensive lapses The margin for error or underperformance in the SEC is very very small. Not making excuses. Just reality JJ and fans like me have to rationalize.
North Carolina was paying $14 million this year. Last year sec average was $8.5. So $12 to $20

I noticed that as well. Maybe one on stride
I am happy about wade… and hope he is a franchise coach. He cannot claim that yet. Or rather we cannot. I am sure wade would not

This is what any coach would do. In the NIL world it takes a lot more than this. Optimism about WW though

WW is an established as a good coach. Nothing great. LSU basketball has been in the ditch for a very long time. Cautiously optimistic
The Nebraska guy is who we need
There is no way on earth Steve’s leaves president of Celtics for LSu. Although I agree with your thought.
Very few big guys. Some guards. Rarely a five star. Very few top 100 players.
John Bradynshould not have been fired. Skip really did not like him. Anyway.

Seems like Uhigh does not let them graduate early
