How many other SEC fanbases could fit that description?

OU would be a solid addition that makes a lot of financial sense. Doubly so if it could be paired with an East Coast school, like VA Tech. You know good and well it wasn't OU that ran Nebraska out of the Big 12 or broke up the SWC.

Kind of puts the argument about fearing Texas to rest. OU is a much better football program and I haven't seen much objection to them joining.

They didn't murder multiple conferences.

Well......it was their "wallflower" press conference that directly led to Mizzou saying "enough" and scheduling direct talks with the SEC. OU tried to bolt the big12 for the PAC and larry scott said "no thanks." Then Mizzou went to the SEC.

MU's market value in the TV contract is much greater than OU's. Aggies is even greater. OU is an attractive add based on their fan base and great tradition I'll give you that.
That’s BS. OU adds much more viewers than Missouri ever would and they are much more of a national brand. Most people in Missouri only care about the Chiefs.

When Mizzou joined the SEC one of the reasons we were invited was market size. That is what the tv contracts were based on.
OK 3.9 million
MO 6.3 million

I was about to say - this sounds like 3/4 of the conference!

I think most of us are pretty damn happy OU is coming because they'll be competitive

But Texas is going to be a bunch of bitches that struggle to get 6 wins every year

Absolutely no discussion of them moving into the league.

Texas, Texas and more Texas

I have a text thread with an Aggie, Longhorn, and Baylor fan about it. Baylor dude is pissed and going off on it and how corrupt the Big XII is. Longhorn is all LOL you’re little brother again. Never mind that his texts 9 years ago were about how we’d regret this and everything would be a huge failure and we’d be crawling back.

A separate OU grad texted me all “I guess y’all are scared of us.”

I said “I DGAF if y’all come and kick our arse every year. Bring Okie State. I don’t care. Just don’t bring Texas. The problem is you know you can’t come without them.”

My point is the amount of viewers that tune in to watch Mizzou play is not comparable to OU. One of OU’s biggest alumni locations is DFW so can’t just go off of state populations.

They go by major metro areas and eyeballs. MU has more.
No doubt OU has a big fan base and is a national brand. If future contracts look at thing differently OU may bring more value. I was just looking at the financial side of things. I like the idea of adding OU due to the great program and our long shared history (mostly you destroying us). I went to some of those arse whoopin's back in the 60's with my dad.

OU recruits top 10 classes and will be competitive at the top of the conference, they have probably the second best (SEC) coach in Riley, a brand new stadium with top 3 facilities, and a fan base with no pro team like Alabama so their fans travel very well. It’s a fun school to have on the schedule.

OU more than likely has a bit less political cover than Texas. Texas grads control all the real power in the current Texas legislature, while it is a bit more mixed in Oklahoma.

It’s not like Texas isn’t used to being called the bad guy anyways, so if they take the hit and let OU get it done so be it. It is not like they two schools havent worked together for their mutual befit for the last 30 years, why stop now?

Wouldn’t it be fantastic if the Texas Legislature nixed UT coming but TCU comes with OU in the back door?

SEC home games in the metroplex while UT wallows around with TTU and Baylor.

OU doesn’t need UT if they are SEC.

I'm not in favor of adding any teams. But if we do, Oklahoma is about as good a pickup as possible.

I think the chances for either of them coming are slim, but the way shite has been going lately, you never know.
