re: Do you guys honestly like your job?

Posted by 3nOut on 7/22/26 at 8:46 am to
I absolutely love my job. I work from home and never dread walking into my office.

I have plenty of bad days and frustrations like everyone, but I have a fair employer and get to do fun things all day.

But you quoted “18 years old” and a wood chipper. Honestly, I don’t understand your point and I don’t think anyone else does either.

i'm saying that somebody doing a "thread is worthless without pics" or "since nobody follows the rules" about an 18 YO, especially a deceased one, deserves to be in a wood chipper.

That’s a wood chipper.

I was not condoning the post. Quite the opposite.

I’m a 42 YO mildly dad bod’d cybersecurity guy. I do about 15-20 different things in my job but there is one thing I’m really good at and makes my company and myself the most money.

You can bet your arse that I flaunt and exploit that one thing.

the sound design is bad to the point where a few scenes you can't hear what is being said

This is my bi-annual post of I do not understand people who bitch about Nolan sound mixing.

I’ve never had an issue with a single sound in a Nolan movie ever.

Someone in here (probably this guy) is downvoting every post that includes negative opinions about the movie. I don't get it. Even if it's the best film on planet earth, someone out there isn't going to like it.

There is some MFer out there that left Paddington 2 with a negative review. Some people are just miserable curmudgeons.
Depends on type of shirt, I work from home and wear poncho shirts every single day.

I do camera all the time and never feel bad about putting my face/camera on in a poncho.

When I’m on site with customers I always wear khakis and a dress shirt tucked in. .

I serve on the benevolence committee for our church as a deacon. there are situations where we all roll our eyes and times where we are happy to pay a power bill.

some of the worst fraud we've seen are longtime members of the church sadly.

I genuinely like Huff and think he is a net positive for Christianity.

Where I think that a lot of people get mixed up on "Judeo-Christian" is that there is a large part of Christian morality that we have in the West that explicitly comes from Jesus' teaching that goes beyond what we see in the Old Testament.

Case in Point. I won't pretend like I've never engaged in porn, but it is something I'm happy to say is in my past. I think that Dennis Prager is a moral person for the most part, but because he doesn't believe in Christ, has said that he doesn't think watching porn is immoral because the idea of " when you look at a woman with lust, you've committed adultery in your heart" comes from Christ, none of his teachings. Even though he frustrates me, Shapiro has a different take (which I appreciate.)

At the end of the day, people may joke about it, but we all have shame with porn, because we aren't sitting around doing it with our group of friends. We know it's shameful, but for some reason one group of people seem exceptionally involved with its' proliferation.

On another issue, you can count the Jews against abortion on one hand in the country. I do appreciate people like Shapiro or Praeger being against it, but they are an extreme minority.

Go look at Dave Ruben who is a gay married Jew that is fine with abortion, has no moral stance on porn, and believes in using women's bodies to grow his children for money.

I don't think that he's inherently evil compared to a lot of the left, but while I may consider him cobelligerent on several issues, he is not my ally in any sense of the word.

Bert is like Theo Von, in that they are funny guys but terrible stand ups

I think Bert is a hilarious story teller, but awful comedian.
Theo is a great spitballer and great at off the cuff comments, but an awful comedian.
Tim Dillon is a hilarious podcast host and guest, but TERRIBLE comedian
Matt Rife is fantastic at crowdwork and a mediocre comedian.
Hinchcliffe is the greatest roaster ever but low rate comedian.

Some people are just naturally funny in some regards, but do standup to keep the lights on.

they recruit heavily for people that don't have a direction right out of college is all i got.

back in 2007 when i graduated they were at all the job fairs and a few people that had joke degrees without prospects went there.

don't know if they require degrees for management these days like back then.

I think that is generally a true statement, but when I’m in there it is because I need a very random network thing that I have to have on the fly. I’ve already used your app/website to find out if it’s in stock.

As arrogant as this sounds, I often feel:

please just get me the thing I need. I don’t need your recommendations.

ETA: I work in networking and Cybersecurity with multiple certs in Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet, and Microsoft. I simply need you to get me my thing I’ve already researched.
