I think they both have overall great athletic programs. I do think the Lincoln Riley situation left them reeling. I don’t get the BV hire . I think he is definitely not the right hire. I’m surprised that they didn’t go all in on fat Josh. I think OU would be the school he would leave Tennessee for.

Riley left and gutted the whole program. Venables has done well rebuilding the roster, but he can’t coach consistently, and is probably a dead man walking regardless with the schedule this year. OU beat the brakes off bama late season, so the talent is there. I expect Heupel will be the coach in 2026.
Elon has something like 500 lawyers in battleground states right now and RNC has watchers at every station.
Nothing is like the cotton bowl. Wouldn’t change a thing ever.

Norman is close to Dallas, and OU actually has a lot of money, the oil money alone is ridiculous. Only A&M, UGA, and Texas eclipse the potential money OU can throw around in the sec. OU could easily out spend Alabama dollar vs dollar when comparing alumni.
Let’s just say the game was never played after about 2:30pm except on a couple rare occasions and there were serious brawls and even a shooting I believe.

Hawkins is probably one of the fastest QBs in CFB right now if not THE fastest, and has an elite arm. He needed some reps but is basically in no danger of being replaced. Hes the future at OU, they have known that since spring ball.

Michigan has 3 NFL players on defense

OU has Danny stutsman, Billy Bowman, Damonic Williams who will all go in the first 3 rounds. Plus 3-4 more underclassmen that will get drafted.

You gave up almost 500 yards of offense to Payton Thorne

It’s a BV defense, always gives up yards but not many pts. Nobody has scored over 25 pts on OU yet despite the defense spending 80% of the game on the field. Texas won’t either Venables owns sark.
Wonder what sark is gonna do about Mike Hawkins running a 4.4 in full pads the other day on national tv, and throwing absolute lasers.
Brent gets another year, due to how Riley left the program. He’s got the defense at an elite level. If he can get the offense back to OU standards it’s the next dynasty. If not he’s gone in 2026 and OU will hire heupel.

Get rid of the continuous running 40-second clock implemented in college football in 2008. Then the defense can mix and match according to the down and situation. Offenses will once again have to earn it instead of using fatigue and confusion as a replacement for talent. Beep beep.

You mean save college football?

If an injury timeout is taken, the player has to sit out for the rest of the series for evaluation.

Freeze called a hell of a game. OUs defense was good, but there was so much misdirection they could never settle into a rhythm. Auburn ran the ball better than anybody has on OU in over two years. I would certainly give freeze another year to get a qb sorted out. I’d take him as OC at OU in a heartbeat. He has a killer offense.

Just make sure you watch the game today mongoloid. OU is going to look like second half when Tn had no answer with Hawkins at QB. That being said OU played perennial NC winners yearly for decades and decades before the big 12 split.

We need the TX schools to lock the Sooners out of the state so that their Dallas game and 1x Kyle Field games are the only games they play in Tejas.

OU didn’t play any Texas schools besides Texas for decades. It’s too close to Dallas for that to even matter.
Dude just stfu. OU is a top 8 school in talent every year and a couple hours from Dallas.

They still scored 25 and had 345 yards on Oklahoma’s “dominant” defense.

That’s the lowest total yards and point total they will have all season. Mark it down.

It will happen relatively quickly. He's Jane, plays like Tarzan. Hats off to him for his grit and all that, but he won't last.

He was 6’1 200 lbs as a senior in HS…he’s said to be about 215 now. That’s bigger than Jayden Daniel’s, and CJ stroud were in college. You are just next level ignorant.
