You and I both know I wasn’t referring to the suburbs straight south of Nashville or anything in Mississippi in regards to right outside of Memphis.

Mississippi literally ranks last in everything.

Mostly to do with population. Mississippi has some good private companies and has Sanderson Farms which could be a Fortune 500 lister. MS is a large manufacturer in the auto and aerospace industries, it's also one of the biggest shipbuilding states for the Navy. There are also lots of smaller companies based here with worldwide presence.

Columbus GA has as many as the entire state of Alabama (and will surpass Alabama if TSYS continues to do acquisitions)

Peavey Electronics in Meridian is one of those private companies that you mentioned.
They have produced music electronics, guitars, speakers, mixers etc. for groups and companies all over the world for 50+ years.

To cite one example, they provided all the sound equipment for the Beijing Olympics back in 2008.

So while MS gets pooped on quite a bit , we are actually much better off than people realize. Maybe no Fortune 500 companies but many successful homegrown businesses that are doing well.

And KC which is actually larger in population than St Louis.

St. Louis city has 300k population. The metro area is like 2.8M. KC’s population in the MSA is like 2.3M.

That's how I discovered that I prefer Skippy.. lol

Around 30 years ago, I purchased every brand on the shelves and dug in. Had never tried Skippy before then.

The plateau is awesome. It has a ridiculous number of outdoor options, and is reasonably priced.

Obviously STL would be larger IF the Better Together plan goes through.

It’s not going to. The city is broke and trying to suck the county down with it.

Your link is outdated. 2018’s list has 12 for Tennessee.
