Yes there are Clemson fans outside South Carolina.

They're in north sections of Atlanta and parts of Charlotte.

And that's about it.

Well the tickets better be cheap; I considered going, but the $2,600 airfare and $1,200 for three nights at a hotel was just insane.

All that to fight through one the worst areas for traffic in the country during rush hour to get to a stadium thats in a business park miles away from anything of interest. On top of it all, it’s not that great of a stadium and has had issues with the turf from day one.

It’s a shite location for this kind of game. End of story.

The 4 team format is fine. How the final location is determined needs to be tweaked. There should be the ability for at least half of the fans bases to have a reasonable distance to attend the CFP final. The #1 Seed should have a West Coast, Central and East Coast Options to choose from.
With Alabama being #1 they should be able to select places like Atlanta, Charlotte, Jax, Tampa, New Orleans, Houston Dallas as the venue they want to compete. There will always be plenty of NFL teams with nice stadiums in big cities not in the playoffs.

You can't give locations a one week notice.

Sure you can..

When it's down to the final 4, each team can provide to the stadiums what their #1 Choice would be. This would be down right after the Final 4 is selected.

Anything can be made to work if the stadiums want it bad enough.

And there will still be more people in the stands than this

Really, genius? You're saying more people are going to show up for the National Championship than the Fiesta Bowl? Hot take, there.

We've spent a hell of a lot of money over the previous five years in the playoff.

If the playoff gets any bigger it will have to be held partly on campus. Two playoff games in a week, thousands of miles apart, will test the limit of any fanbase imho. Especially those like Alabama and Clemson that’ve done this year after year.

Apparently 99 percent of the PAC doesn’t give a shite about college football.

FIFY

About 1/3 to 1/2 of tickets to these type games are pre sold to corporate folks and football fans in the area well in advance of the actual game. Not shocking with no PAC or B1G teams in the game that the tickets are not sold out. How did the Rose Bowl do for their game this year? If that was well below a sell out that would be the bigger news story. Especially with Buckets in the game and CUM retiring for at least a few more years.

Maybe a lot of Alabama and Clemson fans remember this from two years ago... California banning travel to Alabama and seven other states because they wouldn't let SJWs or gays dance in the street or something. Why would I choose to go to California with the shade they constantly throw at us?

I think that there is still plenty of interest in the game, but the people in charge of putting it on a Monday at 5PM in California right after the holidays are dumbasses.

Hell, I hate both of these teams but would be tempted to buy a ticket if it was held in San Diego, which everyone knows is German for Whale's Vagina.

It's a combination of distance and this not being anything new for Clemson and Alabama.
