At the end of the day this whole thing is driven by TV money...they could careless if anyone shows up to the game.

Well, given the fact that the blowjob would probably come from a guy, that's understandable.

Why should people want to watch the same dang game we've seen 3 times already?
This doesn't make much sense if you look past the names of the teams. You have possibly the two best passers in college football squaring off, and they haven't played each other before.

Maybe the rest of the country is tired of seeing Bama buy their way in

I can't imagine living life like this. It must just be insufferable.

Well the tickets better be cheap; I considered going, but the $2,600 airfare and $1,200 for three nights at a hotel was just insane.
Robin Leach is alive and well.
$300 RT on Southwest, Nashville-LAX, bought before the semifinals, but reusable if Bama didn't get in.
$90 a night for a midrange hotel in Monterey, a little over an hour away.
And since the stadium opens at 3:00 for a 5:00, you're not fighting rush hour traffic.
I'm not saying it wasn't a dumb choice. I'm just saying that people quoting these ridiculous fares must have just started searching, or didn't expand their search area.

It’s very similar to what the NFL experienced before the salary cap was enforced. Not sure why y’all are so naive to refuse to recognize it

I know right? Can't believe we're so naive to believe all our success is tainted because we openly cheat and screw everyone else in CFB.
Weird how I'm so naive as to not just accept that as fact because a jealous rival who hates losing to us for a decade straight says so.
Just naive.

The money is in TV anyway. They'd like to fill up the stadium but they've been willing to put the games out west because they can afford to make that concession when the hub of the business model is TV contracts and the internet.

It’s okay,y’all have been trained to believe Bama football means more than life itself, that is why so much is inve$ted

Absolutely. It's a shame that LSU and Louisianans don't care about football or inve$t time and money in it. I'm shocked there are more than 3 LSU posters on Tiger Rant, given how little y'all get involved in the sport.

We strive to be well rounded, non football obsessed folks like our neighbors to the Southwest.

That’s the other side of the mountain here. If people aren’t going to the game, you can’t tell me that there isn’t a correlation to eyeballs on the tv. I like college lacrosse, and I watch the games in the acc and the big ten. But I see that there aren’t many people at the games. It doesn’t matter to me if there aren’t a lot of people watching it or not. But lacrosse is a regional or niche sport, like college hockey or baseball in the south and the west coast. Football should have a national appeal, but it’s losing the luster.

1247 miles from L8U to cheap Glendale
Tickets were $50-80
Airfare was up to $1000
No thanks.

I would like them to add the new Raiders stadium in Las Vegas when it finally gets completed.
That's actually a great idea. Las Vegas would be the best location other than Glendale.

with a need to work tomorrow, havent read all the posts... but, Christmas bills still coming in, cost $3k to get there, even if we just shuttle out and back, and have to miss Monday and Tuesday at work for both of us. *yes would have to take wife with me if I go.
Say we get the cheapest tickets about $200
So we miss 2 days of work, and push out $3200-$3500
just too much when still trying to pay off kids Christmas
Next year is in ATL, AZ, NO.... can get to ATL and NO but if tickets are like they were last year in ATL... still wont be able to go.
