The existence of diminutive great players doesn’t disprove the notion that if soccer were on par with American football or baseball or even basketball and many of those skills players (not the 7 foot tall giants or offensive linemen) grew up playing soccer we would have a far more competitive squad.
But that would obviously require a major transformation in American culture and American soccer talent development that may never happen.
But height (within reason) and speed and strength are just as useful in the game of soccer as they are in other sports.
Height is great for goal keepers, winning headers, etc. Speed is obvious. Let’s throw in jumping ability as well. Strong players can bully others off the ball.
It’s common sense. Short kings and rabid futbol enthusiasts just get defensive about their sport and offended that they would be replaced if more athletic specimen grew up playing as well. But it would be no different than a Jackie Robinson-type moment. Not all of them, but many of them.
Look at Erling Haaland. He would be playing tight end in the NFL if he were born in America.

In my personal experience, the couples that post the most about each other on social media are usually in the most unstable relationships.
The posts are a weak attempt to hide their struggles from others and are often a futile attempt to please the wife with social media groveling.
