They have made great strides in treating breast cancer.

re: New head of FEMA, not aware the country had a hurricane season

Anybody who reads a news story like this and immediately believes it is an idiot.
You may as well read People or Cosmo.
This is a poorly written trash gossip article.
“Four likely liberal government workers who clearly have reason to be butthurt about the state of their agency purportedly said that their boss said blah blah”
#journalism
You are letting biased, agenda-driven news rile you up about events that haven’t even happened yet.
There will likely be hurricanes this year. Let’s see how they do. If the response is botched, then criticize.
We just finished a four-year Presidency where a group of staffers led the country for a cancer riddled dementia patient.
It will be all right.

re: How many white collar jobs are going to be replaced by AI in the next 5 years?
Posted by Norbert on 5/29/25 at 12:02 pm
All generations wrestle with innovation.
When it comes to increased efficiency, accuracy, and performance, AI will be a very helpful tool for humanity.
I think the job market will be scrambled for awhile but eventually resettle in unforeseen, difficult to predict ways.

re: Backing into a parking spot is the best way to park in a parking lot

There’s nothing worse than someone who drives an oversized pickup truck and backs into a spot but parks all over the line.
False masculinity.
It would be manlier to drive a Prius and expertly park it within the lines.

re: Man stripped naked, beaten with poles after calling people 'N-word' in Miss. bar [VIDEO]
Posted by Norbert on 5/27/25 at 12:21 pm
Anyone who pretends that there are zero words, phrases, or sentences that would ever lead them to throw fists (particularly while drunk in a bar) is a liar.
Words are not violence, but they are not simply sounds in the breeze. They convey thoughts and beliefs and ideas, some of which many would like to strongly deter.
If you happen to be dumb enough to say such things in front of those particular people, do not be surprised if you end up naked and bruised in the parking lot.
We ALL know that if the races were reversed and this event took place at The Cub in Shreveport and a drunk black man took a beating for racist comments it would be celebrated here.
Sure, the news stories would be VASTLY different (I’m not defending the MSM), but that’s not what is largely being discussed.
Words should largely not be policed by the government, but they do carry weight and worldly consequences.

Greyhound had an ad campaign in the 70s or 80s that used the word in a jingle, something about 86ing other options besides Greyhound. I don't think they were advocating killing people who worked for Trailways.
I voted for Trump 3 times but think that Tulsi and Kash giving public statements on this is kind of embarrassing.
Murder is the worst possible interpretation of a term that can be used in different contexts. It could easily mean impeached or otherwise resisted.
Trump should just demean Comey in public as an irrelevant person whose opinion nobody values… and then maybe privately make a little trouble for him for what COULD be interpreted as a veiled threat.
Otherwise, conservatives are going to be made out to be hysterical boomers out of touch with slang.

Well, Rush died of lung cancer, which in the vast majority of cases is directly linked to smoking.
Obesity, smoking, and alcohol abuse increase the risk of contracting a wide array of cancers.

re: More Americans being replaced by H1B Indians. Is there any hope this will ever stop?
Posted by Norbert on 5/7/25 at 12:13 pm
There are many valid critiques of the H1B system and why the status quo may be harmful to the long term health of America.
That being said, frustration with the system should not lead to the racist comments and generalizations that many posters are making about Indian people.
There are many admirable qualities within their culture that Americans could certainly learn from - close families, close communities, strong work ethic, major emphasis on education, etc.
Most also assimilate well and are a net positive for this country.

People hate each other and should be allowed to say so.
That being said, anybody who curses out a 5-year-old should not be applauded.
Lady’s name is Shiloh. She has a full arm sleeve. And I think I read she is from Minnesota.
Odds are pretty good she is a liberal.
But a lot of posters are unfortunately beginning to respond to leftist racism with their own racism.
