Georgia Tech is a Public Ivy. Its admission rate is low & wealthy families from China send their kids to GT — they even have probably 50k students exclusively online, and the current trend is to be less selective. AAU mother frickers

- "Public Ivy" is a made-up list that has different members depending upon who you ask.
- You shouldn't take kids from China. Stop training our competition.
- Online education is an inferior alternative to in-person.
- Not sure what the AAU reference is for. I'm not a Georgia fan if you were trying to taunt me.

What's glaring, sad and a long-standing fraud of "student-athletes" notably, football and basketball... Is that EVEN at the lowest bar...Ole Miss...tons still wouldn't get in using general admissions standards...

Ole Miss SAT average...1100-1130.

The lowest for the Big10 would be Michigan State...SAT average...1110-1150

.On a side note, these are the Schools from the SEC and Big10 almost no football player would get into.

SEC

Vanderbilt: 1500–1560
Florida: 1330–1480
Georgia: 1300–1490

Big10

Northwestern: 1500–1560
Southern California (USC): 1450–1550
Michigan:: 1370–1530

In my day (90s) you could get into Vanderbilt with a 28 ACT/1200 SAT and decent grades. Pepperidge Farm remembers.

Acceptance rate is just a percentage of those that apply verses those that are actually accepted. If there is not that many applying then it will drive your acceptance rate up.

There are a lot of people on here who try to make more out of acceptance rate than what it actually means.

I worked in Texas for several years early in my career. I traveled much of the state. Some of the dumbest MFers I worked with were Texas grads.

Ole Miss lets everyone in..pretty sure a community college has better acceptance rates..even after my brain injury I could prob get in. I would def fail all classes but anything math related....I am good at math, but very bad at everything else.

All of those schools except Vandy will let absolute retards in from their home state. They are only difficult to get into from out of state. UGA is a great example. 80% retards, 20% 1500+ SAT. It’s a con game to make the overall stats look better for the states students.

Texas should not be mentioned in the same breath as Vandy. Vandy is clear number 1.

The only program where Vanderbilt has a decided advantage is medicine. Business and STEM are ranked higher at Texas. Law is tilted toward Vandy this year at 12 vs. 16 -- the programs were tied at 14 last year.
