I typically wouldn't care but you're still in HS, so you need the proofreading.

You violated minimum age rule. Minimum age is 18.

Better delete your thread before some Auburn dude RAs to get you banned.

Perhaps. But the only thing that truly matters to those in charge are TV ratings/viewers though. Here is some data for the conference championship games... Draw your own conclusions.

SEC Championship
2016: 11.1M viewers (cbs)
2017: 13.5M viewers (cbs)
2018: 17.5M viewers (cbs) << 2nd-most watched SEC title game ever

Big 12 Championship
2017: 5.9M viewers (fox)
2018: 10.2M viewers (abc)

ACC Championship
2016: 5.3M viewers (abc)
2017: 5.4M viewers (abc)
2018: 4.1M viewers (abc) << 6 year low

Big Ten Championship
2016: 9.2M viewers (fox)
2017: 12.9M viewers (fox)
2018: 8.7M viewers (fox) << 4 year low

Pac-12 Championship
2016: 5.7M viewers (fox)
2017: 3.7M viewers (espn)
2018: 4.1M viewers (fox) << lowest rating when televised on broadcast TV

college basketball thing now, before basketball overtakes football as America's favorite sport.

What?Regular season college basketball games are barely
blip on the radar when it comes to ratings.Absolutely no one GAS about college basketball until March...they need to go ahead and cut all regular season schedules to 20 games so March madness starts in February.

I have and ALL the matchups were complete garbage except for the SEC and the Big 12 had a UT/OU battle and the ratings reflect it.

From the look of the crowd shots on TV, there couldn't have been more than 30,000 people in the stands at that Pac 12 title game. So if you want to argue that college football is in major trouble out there, then you've definitely got a case.

I think the ratings reflect exactly what I'm saying.

Are you trying to tell me college basketball is a better product than it was 25 years ago? You think it's
doing a better job of preparing players for the NBA?

AAU is also to blame in the decline.

The OP is making a point that, whether you like it or not, is true.

Everyone here bitches about student attendance - guess what? Hasn’t gotten better in years, and will continue to do so.

The NBA and NFL are multimedia geniuses with marketable players, world class stadiums, in urban, upbeat metro locations. College football is awesome because of nostalgia, and pageantry. Only place it has them beat.

I’ve had Tide Pride season tickets for 3 years and yet, still had enough “points” to qualify for national title tickets.

People here who don’t think the OP has a point, are either clueless, or have their head including the sand.

Don’t believe me? Ask the student athletes themselves: the reason Alabama football and Duke basketball are so successful in recruiting is they are widely recognized as the BEST PATH TO THE PROS.

High school kids don’t dream of playing in Iron Bowls/Egg Bowls - the elite talent grow up wanting to play on Sundays.

College football will always be a special place, especially in states that don’t have pro sports. But as millennials continue to flock to metro areas in droves, I think you’ll see the continued erosion in the interest of college football from its peak in the 90s through 2000s.
