College football is not as popular as it used to be among young people. I’m a high school sophomore. I live in Georgia. At my school, the only thing people care about it the NBA, if they care about sports at all.

If people my age watch football, nobody watches college, it’s always NFL.

It makes me sad. I know it was way more popular during the 90s. Makes me wonder if college football will exist when I’m fifty.

At my school, I have a few good buddies who are “Auburn fans” and the only player they know on their whole team is Stidham.

I can probably name every scholarship player on Georgia’s roster, but no one else gives a shite about the team they claim to be a fan of.

I just hate that all that people my age care about in sports today is basketball players with raging egos and games that don’t matter that much.

Before you say Dear Facebook, I don’t have a Facebook account so I’m posting it here.

It wasn’t the end of the world, it was just one fake punt.

I bet 95% of them are 30 years or older.

NFL is good for betting and ancillary games like fantasy, otherwise it's such a sterile and controlled product and experience. Doesn't even come close to college. My kids agree, so far at least.

That’s the thing. When I came into school Monday, nobody talked about the SECCG. Not a single word. They just talked about Kevin Durant’s feud with Draymond Green.

This is true. Kids love NBA or gaming. College football does not appeal to most of them.

So just because that’s what you experience, that means it’s true everywhere? Because that’s definitely not true where I live.

Exactly. Culture has done a complete 180°. Now people who die their hair blue and play video games 14+ hours a day are “cool”, and people who watch or play football are weird

I'm an Aggie now living up here in the Tennessee Volunteer heartland. I can assure you that they are still crazy about college football in these parts. Which is a credit to them considering how bad it's been for the Vols for a while now.

Might not be true where you live, but kids in Metro Atlanta spend their Saturday playing Fortnit, yelling RIP XXXTencacion, and saying free 6ix9ine

Once again, you’re saying just because people very specifically where you live SEEM to not care about football, that means people everywhere don’t anymore?

Viewership has gone down for all sports from their peak. But you are wrong in thinking no one cares about college football. Money talks.

That's why I'm glad Auburn has the foresight to get in on ground floor of this college basketball thing now, before basketball overtakes football as America's favorite sport.

Football is antiquated. Nobody wants their kids to play football anymore, all the great athletes will be playing basketball in 20 years. Not to mention with all the rule changes that will come as we learn more about head injuries, 20 years from now football will look as different as it did before and after the forward pass was made legal. 7-on-7 is the future of football.
