He really was. I was surprised by it with the way his team just gave up in the 4th. Don't think I've seen that out of a Saban Bama team before. Surprised he wasn't red hot about that.

I think the reason he was not red hot is how well the team did up to late in the 4th quarter. You could tell this season by his demeanor on the sidelines this team was going to have to put in extra effort to get to the NC. He did ride them like other teams in the past.

UGA was the better team and I think Saban knows that but I also think Saban is excited about going forward with what he saw in his returning players for next year.

Again hats off to UGA

Congrats to you guys on an incredible season. Some of my best friends are GA fans...While I never want Alabama to lose at anything: I am genuinely happy for some of them. Take it all in man, a lot of teams didn't get to play in the game last night, let alone beat the GOAT and win a natty. Congrats again and Roll Tide.

Nick Saban was classy last night after the game. he is very intense and passionate. I don't think anybody hates losing more than he does.

Well, let’s keep things in perspective. It’s not as if Nick has to really suck up a lot of disappointment and muscle through it. He’s always there, and so it’s a lot easier to be magnanimous when you’re on the top of the game than when you have to fight through adversity and disappointment. I’m not saying it’s not a good trait, but just that it’s a lot easier to do so when you know you’re going to be in the thick of it year in and year out, than when you’re not in that forever position.

Feels good to walk that aisle though and beat the MAN to quote Ric Flair.

Tip of the cap to you, UGA and Kirby. I feel a little bummed about losing but not to UGA and not to Kirby. I'm genuinely a little bit happy for y'all. You earned it this year by truly being the best team all season. Ya had 1 bad game against Bama in the SEC Champ that allowed Bama to have a little hope and then y'all choked that right on out last night. Kudos.

Go enjoy it.

He is old.... And at 70 yrs old he's still got his team consistently competing for championships every year.

Nick can be awkward, and he hates to lose, but he's not the a-hole a lot of people think he is.

Nick is more or less narrowly in the autism spectrum. He's not a bad guy...he just can get tunnel vision on what he cares about...

I think there is a lot of mutual respect between the two. Kirby no doubt learned how to be a head coach under Saban. I think Saban appreciates the evolvement of Kirby and Kirby appreciates Saban being a mentor. Good ol fashioned sportsmanship lost in today's game.

Too many coaches taking shots on twitter and what not. With Saban and Kirby, it's two good ol boys doing things the right way.

Video of Saban trying to find douche bag Dabo after the 2016 title game. Lot of coaches would have said frick that guy I'll just see him in the locker room.

I think he knew GA had the better team and he overachieved with the squad he had.

I saw that and thought the same thing.

I think Saban genuinely appreciates what Kirby has done at UGA and how he runs the program.

And at the end of the day, the title is staying in the SEC, so it’s a win for the conference.

He has 7 rings and I think he genuinely likes Smart. There are a lot of coaches in his tree but Smart is his actual protege.

I get that and understand where you are going with this.

Let me put a different spin on it, though. I have seen a lot of coaches etc. that had great careers. Some of them were very magnanimous and great people. (Look up: Nick Hyder Valdosta for example of this) Dome become huge jerks and can't give anybody any credit whatsoever.

All you have to do is look at some posters here on the Rant....from ever fan base.

Some are classy and give credit where credit is due, no matter how much they might hate an rival. Some are total jerks and will not give any credit no matter what happens.

It's just human nature and different personalities. Saban has the record and the money, so he doesn't have to give credit to anybody. he could be the biggest jerk on earth and it wouldn't hurt him. His legacy and his financial well being are set. He could be as big a jerk as he wants to be...instead he chose to be gracious.

Just my thoughts. Y'all don't have to agree with them, obviously.
