Nick Saban was classy

A lot of people won't like this thread, but....
Nick Saban was classy last night after the game. he is very intense and passionate. I don't think anybody hates losing more than he does.
But after the game he walked across the field to Kirby Smart and I saw him smile. He shook Kirby's hand and hugged him. He seemed genuinely happy that if his team couldn't win he was glad it was Kirby.
I was genuinely impressed. I expected him to give the fast cursory handshake and walk off, but they both stood there and talked for a few moments, smiling like old friends. (Which they are)

Nick can be awkward, and he hates to lose, but he's not the a-hole a lot of people think he is.

Yeah saw that too and thought the same. Saban's a good man on top of being the GOAT. But honestly, Kirby said a lot of great things about Bama and acknowledged they were down a number of players. Truly a heavyweight game

Great game to uga...but I'm going to say this now...i hate you for giving nick saban an edge going into next year...that team will be on a mission next year...just watch. So fricks you uga if bama comes back nastier than ever lol.

I think 10 to 15 years ago, saban would have been pissed as heck. Now that he has won a handful and older he is appreciating life.

I think Coach had to be proud that if Bama couldn't take home another NC, then Kirby could take one for UGA. Congrats on a hard fought game, enjoy the hell out of this because they don't come easy.

I agree. I've always liked him, but he can be a bit prickly at times. But he is an intense competitor and wills his team to wins. He is a great motivator, and he showed last night that he can lose with class. It's easy to win with class and be gracious. It's very hard to lose with class and be gracious.

He really was. I was surprised by it with the way his team just gave up in the 4th. Don't think I've seen that out of a Saban Bama team before. Surprised he wasn't red hot about that.
Not like he has a reason not to be though. Kirby or this loss don't threaten his legacy. You can tell he just enjoys being there now.

Agreed, it was a genuine reaction from Saban. Classy on his part to take the time and be real with Kirby.
