So we lost two game National champions?
That's still 40% of the games against quality competition. But maybe next time he makes the playoffs all the 3 other teams star QBs are going to all get injured or all be overrated at a ND level and take his percentage up.

Have you got a clue about how many 9-win SEC teams Saban has not beaten?...it's a bunch!

Ah, the old "Auburn usually sucks" taunt from Auburn fans. This is one of my favorite things you guys do.

Saban has beaten five 8-win Auburn teams that would've won nine had he lost to them

Auburn Selective Statistics Department will not return calls to refute your claims.

If and when Bama and Saban win the Iron Bowl will he have beaten a "good " team? If you lose Saturday that will take your name out of consideration for being a "good " team.

So I guess he will have to wait until next year to beat a "good " auburn team.

I'm disappointed at the thought and I know Nick would be too.

See this is my favorite Auburn. Chest beating about being 4-0 against Shula, like LSU wasn’t 4-0 and Tennessee wasn’t 3-1. Sure the streak started with Fran and ended with Saban but you fricks feasted on probation years when the only teams in the West that Alabama had a winning record against were Ole Miss and Miss State.

Never beat a Kentucky or Vanderbilt team with 9 wins, either.

Probably because, historically auburn doesnt usually have 9 wins. How many times has he beaten 8 win teams that helped keep from getting 9 wins?

They beat this drum for all time. Problem is how often have teams that would have 9 wins but lost to Alabama is not part of their push.

3 games in the Saban era where an AU win would have made them a 9 win team: 2014, 2011, 2009

5 other times where 8-win AU teams would have had 9 wins if not for Alabama - 1996, 1990, 1985, 1979, 1960

Or the times Alabama beat AU teams with 9+ wins, which has happened.

The problem is that Auburn has average 8.2 wins per season since Saban came to Alabama, but only 3-7 vs him at Tuscaloosa. Also to note that while all 3 Auburn wins were close (7 points or less), only one Alabama win falls into the same category. Two of the 8 win teams lost by double digits, so the AU battle cry of "they weren't good teams" was adopted to cover that up.

In other words, it's the Auburn moral victory/mulligan cry.

The OP’s point is pretty obvious.

It’s kind of like that stat of Georgia and Auburn. When both are ranked top 10, Auburn is 4-0.

Alabama is something like 22-3 all-time against Auburn when Alabama is a top 5 team. Give yourself confidence with whatever low sample size statistical anomaly you want, but the reality is previous games will not have an effect on this game, and most of the time (in any sport) the better team wins.
