He’s not making stuff up. That makes zero sense. Propst clearly loves coaching football, he’s been coaching since the 1970’s. and he wouldn’t jeopardize his career like that.

Question: how would Rush Propst know if Chubb got paid. He was a UGA student for the prior three years. Why would some dbag high school coach be involved in that payment?

Because the same folks paying him and his players off are the ones paying the kids in college.

What he’s doing at Valdosta is what every successful hs football coach is doing. Lee Co HS right up the road went from getting beat like a redheaded step child to winning and/or playing for 6A state championship games like 4/5 years

If the lawsuit is accurate, he funded rent for multiple players including one from California. Every high school football coach isn't doing that. Nowhere close.

Do they engage in some level of recruiting? Sure, but it's more along the lines of finding ways to get players in the district. They aren't throwing around tens of thousands of dollars every year.

When this is all over, I bet we find out Propst wasn't either. This fund wasn't going to be a 'funny money' fund to buy players. It was going to be a 'funny money' fund to keep creditors off Rush's back.

So he didn’t “need” any money since he was sitting on a fat stack of cash then?

I guess your choice is to believe Nick Chubb or the most well-documented pathological liar in the history of football.
So you think college football players aren’t paid?

Rush has zero reason to make any of this up

Did you listen to the tape?

He is legitimately laying out a case for why he needs increased on hand cash reserves for effective recruiting and pay for play at his level.

He goes down a rabbit hole of rationalization on a bandwagon approach logical fallacy to argue that everyone is doing it from law enforcement to power brokers across the South to the most preeminent FBS recruiting schools in the SEC. So, it must be both necessary and okay, right?

He is name dropping right and left and acting as if he is still connected, when he has been cutoff from UA in large part since his Hoover scandal.

He is talking completely out of his arse to try to impress someone and increase his clout, while hoping his palm may get greased along the way.

What reason do you have to believe a chronic liar and cheat? Maybe all of the UGA arse whippin’s?

He has a lot of reason to, actually. He needs money and he's trying to impress Valdosta boosters by showing them that he's "in the know".

Yes, actually it is. Not all of the recruited players ask for money, but many of them absolutely do.

The one from California ended up getting a stipend to go to another GA high school.

This happens all over, including at the better programs in Alabama. You really think it's coincidence that Armoni Goodwin ran for about 400 yards in a game against Hewitt, then just a few months later was playing FOR Hewitt?

I'm sure there's some element of truth to his story, because we all sort of know this is common, whether we want to think about it or not.

My question would be, how does Rush know this? Did he hear about it, or would high school coaches be that involved in how players got paid?

Just playing devil's advocate, I can't imagine major college boosters would lay out to a high school coach exactly how it works, or who specifically is involved. Even if they're getting some sort of kickback to "steer" a player, how would they know the whole process? It just seems blatantly dangerous for thousands of high school coaches to be in on that level of detail.

He jeopardized this marriage and family, he's been fired at his last two stops, and he's under investigation again. A man that has loved coaching football since the 70's and values his profession would've taken better care of his own moral character and integrity.

Rush has jeopardized his career at every turn. And now that the secret tape recordings are out it's proven that he's a hustler and used car salesman trying to talk like a big shot to convince someone to give him another handout.

His second mortgage must be in default again with debtors knocking down Stefnie's door.

Oh, I don’t deny he’s an idiot. He’s insane about football, but he’s also a guy with no filter who I could absolutely see being duped into speaking about the unspoken rules. Doesn’t matter though, media outlets have it now and we’ll see where it goes.

A conversation in which he was trying to convince a HS booster club President to give him $10k of walking around money so he could use it to cheat with/pay his own debts from a life of well known poor decision making. He was trying to run a con and it got caught on tape.

Apparently a California QB was getting over 2000 a month to play there. The booster that is at war with Propst now admits that.
