The NCAA created this mess by pretending that teams like Akron are playing in the same league as teams like Ohio State.

I didn't like that then and don't like this now, but if it is within the rules, what are you going to do except change the rules.

I think the new age limits will help.

Because that’s an NFL rule collectively bargained for.

It would have to be fought in the courts. NIL and professionalism were foreign concepts the last time this was litigated. The lines have blurred, and personally, I would love to see how the courts feel these days about these professional players being governed by a labor agreement in which they played absolutely no part. It would be extremely difficult for the judge to put the same restrictions and concerns on today's NIL athlete as opposed to Clarett's argument.

Surprised that hasn't happened in HS athletics yet to challenge age caps to participate is sports. Who doesn't want to see 19-20 year old students who were held back lining up on Friday nights against 15-17 year old kids

Agreed, was pointing out the laughable hypocrisy of the LSU fans wanting this guy in Baton Rouge from another school after ranting about Bama bringing back their own player not even a year ago.

What rules? What limits?

Seems to me there are no rules or limits when all it takes is a local biased judge to institute a ruling on questionable legality justifying whatever benefits their program or social viewpoint.

We are in a post rule CFB era and it’s at best obnoxious and at worst insufferable to watch as a fan.

No one wants to be involved with a game without fixed rules and that’s exactly where we’re at in 2026 with college sports.

Only an Ole Miss fan would get on here with this bullshite. It's ok to have a 6th year QB who didn't enter the draft so he make a bunch of money with a judge ruling in his favor but no way in hell should a player get a 5th year to make money because he signed for peanuts to try out for an NFL team. Do you think a few weeks in an NFL magically made these player so much better?

With NIL, there is a chance that a bidding war could break out between NFL teams and college teams. That is the way it is headed. College football is going to become even more professional than it already is.
