Lol good luck with that. I love Beamer, but his performance up to this point doesn't warrant a 7.5 million dollar salary. A raise? Sure. But that's about it.

South Carolina is in the advantageous position here. There are no upper echelon jobs open right now. So why not say, “we will reassess after next year” and let the season play out? Either Beamer proves he is worth the raise or he doesn’t and it’s no big loss.

If that's the case Beamer needs to rein his boy in.

Would offer him $4MM with incentives and tell him to GTFO if that is not good enough. They did this with Muschamp after his second year.

I dont think Beamer walks but he will certainly exit at the next decent opportunity...

I don't think he does quite honestly. He has a pretty easy gig at SC with tempered expectations.

Hope the SEC uses A&M’s handling of extending Jimbo as a cautionary tale.

Sexton damn near represents all of the coaches in the SEC and runs an extortion ring on the ADs.

I don’t think I believe any of this. Which school is out there willing to pay that much for Beamer? There doesn’t seem to be sufficient leverage for such demands

If a coach ever told me “give me this or I walk” then I’d say don’t let the door hit you in the arse on the way out unless you’ve won a championship of some sort. I like Beamer but he’s in no position to demand this

Could not agree more. Small raises with big incentives is the way forward if the ADs want to keep things under control (I’d actually like performance based penalties as well, but baby steps)

The Muschamp point is illustrative of the problem. Tanner should never have hired him, but giving the extension and buy out, saddled the program with an underperforming coach for far longer than necessary. I like Beamer, but if the wheels fall off in a year or two, we need to be able to have room to maneuver.

This is how AD out bid themselves. If you do the wait and review til next year and he exceeds expectations again the price tag could be much higher. Hard to believe no schools better than scar wouldn’t be interested

The last 2 games were good, but let's be real man. He went 7-6 then 8-4.

Yes, but have to view it in context of the program he took over. It was a flaming disaster. Shane has done a good job rebuilding, and with the right OC hire, he could be a serious player in year 3. Catch UGa? No, not likely. But he could be in position like UTK was this year.

Again, not worth that raise, but he's done well in his time.

ADs are dumb.

Given resources there are many guys who can win 8 games at South Carolina.

Give him a bonus of 250k and bump his pay 500k, but pour the rest into NIL and assistant coaches.

I would call Sexton's bluff
And if he's that confident let him walk
SEC jobs are few and far between and you better appreciate the one you have

here's the thing. These coaches already have incentive bonuses built into their contracts. But apparently, if they hit those incentives, they want those bonuses plus a raise in their base salaries. But demanding your salary be tripled after an 8-4 season (and 7-6 last year) is just absurd. I could see it being reasonable for a market raise given how crazy contracts have become, but he's wanting top 10-15 money for going 15-10 over two seasons. I'd probably offer him a bump to 4.5-5 million a year and let him walk if that's not good enough because he won't find any other program to pay him 7.5/year, and honestly would be hard pressed to find any other P5 job at the moment with most of the vacancies already having been filled.

Liberty just gave 4 million per for 7 years to Chadwell. Beamer is in a good position for a raise, SEC money should be 6 million min for coaches.

If I was SC I would offer him 4.5-5 million per season, he would be a retard to not take that, have a few stipulations that if he makes the SECCG or even better the playoffs than he gets a nice bonus (not gonna happen with Kirby at UGA, but whatever, he probably thinks they can compete with UGA, lulz)

If he does not take that tell him

Ben and Pat have a job for him....... Ben his knees and Pat his feet right out the fukkin door!!!, And don't let the door hit him in the arse on his way out...

Yeah, if so AD should have said, "Sounds good, tell him he needs to be out of his office by friday" and then hang up the phone.

I totally agree with the sentiment, but a lot harder to do if you’re Tanner. You let Beamer go and the next guy you bring in sucks, and I’m quite sure SC fans will go hey, no problem Ray, you did what was right for college football, so you get a pass. Don’t see that happening.

This might be the most boomer thing I’ll read all week

I don’t disagree with you though. However I don’t think this is Beamer talking at all. It’s all Sexton and his lobbying. If the Neuheisal rumor is even true
