Everyone should check out the coaching salaries on Coaches Hotseat. You can see where he ranks according to every other coach in the FBS. He's tied for 62nd with the likes of Rhett Lashley and others. He certainly deserves more than what he's getting. $5M puts him at the same level as Heupel, Drink, Leach, and others.

Louisville a serious step down.
Is it though?
Satterfield in his second year made a half million more than Beamer.

Of course. Louisville and Mississippi State are on similar levels.

7.5 is excessive, 2.75 not enough.
They will most likely meet somewhere in the middle.

You've never been to Louisville, have you? Or State.
Everything at UL is new and shiny. Dominos pumps a lot money into that school.
My comment was more about what the schools are paying their coaches than trying to trash another school. Definitely not a huge step down from one to another.

First of all it was Papa Johns.. he's no longer associated with the program. That said Adidas has been pumping huge cash into Louisville for several years in their branding deals. I forget the exact position but the daughter of the Athletic director was hired as a big wig at Adidas and it jumped from there.
Also Louisville was only paying Satterfield 3.5 million

After Jimbo, any AD that signs a guaranteed contract is a moron. Jimbo made $2M per win this year. Saban and Kirby made half that.
Offer Beamer a contract with a performance clause of $1M per win and substract $.75M for every loss.

ADs are dumb.
Given resources there are many guys who can win 8 games at South Carolina.
Give him a bonus of 250k and bump his pay 500k, but pour the rest into NIL and assistant coaches.
Coaches should have incentive laden contracts... sure we'll bump from $2.75 to $3mm but your buyout goes up if you leave and you get a $3mm bonus if you win the East, another $2mm to make CFP and $2mm more if you win it all. There now you have a $10mm per year contract assuming you hit your incentives.

I would Beamer a raise to 5 million for his 6th and 7th
contract year, and keep his current contract rolling. A contract is a contract and SC would still pay Beamer and wouldn't ask a pay cut if Beamer underperforms.

There is zero way this is true. He loves it here, no way he would put an ultimatum down. Not while trying to fill his OC spot and recruit. It would stunt his growth as a coach if he just up and left after year 2

Pitman said the same things and did the same things.
Once the coach has an above average performance, Sexton will call the AD.

Contracts apparently are meaningless except when it's time to pay the buyouts.
Sign a $5 million a year, 5 year contract...with "incentives" for taking a dump daily.
Go 8-4 in year 2...demand a raise.
Do they realize how ridiculous that kind of shite is?
I wish they all got a $1 million base salary and everything else was truly based on performance. The performance targets could be different depending on the program, but at least you'd have to PERFORM. I'll bet Saban wouldn't have put up with Golding's BS going into this season if $9 million of his salary was riding on winning the West, making the CFP and winning a NC.
Would any of these guys turn down the $1 million+incentives contract? No. What are they going to do...go sell insurance instead? A couple might get NFL gigs, but there's a very limited number of NFL positions.

Next year will be the target. Go 9-3 or higher then get a raise or he walks.

100% and honestly id be happy to give it to him. Thats a pattern of success and the train would be rolling by that time. You pay him well and he will stay forever.
His family has a history of sticking at a place they love for a long time
