its not even like many HUNH teams snap the ball that fast anyway.

Most just run up to the line and wait for the coach to call the play in.
Yeah, I think this is what they are trying to change. Even though most teams don't actually snap the ball all that fast, the fact that they get up to the line and meercat to the sidelines for the offensive call prevents the defense from subbing during that time.

For the record: I'm NOT for changing a damn thing. The HUNH offense hasn't hurt a single soul to my knowledge. Maybe hurt some pride, but player safety is a bullshite excuse.

It isn't a matter of whether teams snap within a certain amount of time as much as it is that defenses haven't been able to substitute because of the possibility that a team could snap within the 10 second window catching them in transition or catch them with too many players on the field. It has paralyzed defenses.

You can love the HUNH of hate it, but this is why the mandatory 10 second delay matters.

Why am I having to tell you people this?!?

the rule is complete and utter bull shite and should be rejected on face value

if you don't like the way the ball is turning recruit and plan against

though I do love the over all implication of morons on twitter that Saban is elbow deep on the NCAA playing them like a puppet

it's bullshite but it's always fun to know your coach has that kind of renown

Funny how gumps mindset has changed since the IB. Many seem to think saban needs help to beat AU now.

But the defense does deserve the opportunity to react and make changes based on what the offense is doing.

You had your chance when you saw what personnel was trotting out on the field for the first play. If a team sends out 4 WR and 1 RB and you go into some quarter formation with only 5 in the box and the team starts to run it down your throat, its not the offenses fault. Call a timeout and regroup or have someone fake an injury.

How is it any different than a ball control offense?

i have no problem with running more plays but by not substituting therefore not allowing the D to substitute is very different than a ball control offense.

Just a simple trade off. 2 Saban rules to benefit Au, 1 to benefit Bama. Gotta handicap it to make it for for lil sis.

Hell yeah. Line up and smash each other. Enough of this pansy get them when they aren't ready shite. Does a referee toss the basketball before both players are ready? Does the umpire let a pitcher throw before the batter is ready?

College football may yet survive.

No but there are plently of basketball teams that rely on pace, transition offense, and fast break opportunities to gain an advantage over other teams.

Maybe the NCAA should ask them not to shoot until 15 seconds are left on the shot clock.

I think Alabama fans were talking about this before the 2013 Iron Bowl. I'm pretty sure you were involved in those discussions, too.

I find it ironic those supporting the rule change are categorizing HUNH as a pussified/scared form of football.

I guess hanging on to the ball and running out the clock is for pussies too.

I wasn't in those conversations.

However I think Bama fans are concerned now whereas the previous attitude was we will make ur arse quit. Now seems more like we need to change the rules so our team doesn't get tired and run over instead.

10 seconds after the 40 sec clock starts isn't much. By the time the ref has spotted the ball 5-10 seconds are already gone.

All Saban needs is a fricker that can make his FG's.

Not at all a valid comparison. Defense can stop the game and sub at any time by fouling. A football defense has no such option.

By his logic, they should make a rule, if you're down by 4 points or less with under 5 minutes, you can foul and force a fg attempt and get the ball back with a chance to win or tie.

I'm calling bullshite! You are in every conversation involving Nick Saban - Alabama football - NCAA vilolations - NCAA rules - Oversigning by Saban. I'm pretty damn sure you were involved in a topic that was exhausted in the summer about the HUNH offense.
