I don't like it. Seems stupid to penalize a team for playing too fast. If they aren't substituting, then the defense shouldn't have to.

This has to do with one thing, $$$. It has nothing to with fairness or what makes the most sense.

This has long since been my stance on the issue.

HUNH has made for some entertaining football in the past decade.

You're sadly mistaken if you think that entertaining football is the goal and aim of any of the powers that be.

they ALREADY DO HAVE THAT CHANCE

if you think you need to shuttle in guys have them f-ing ready

never mind that if the offense subs they have to wait for the D to do the same.

What am I missing for this to be about $$$? Is it because there would be more time for commercials?

Is 11 seconds enough for a player to run off the field and another to run on the field and line up in position with the play? Just seems like a possibility for busted plays.

I feel the same way about the forward pass. It's ruined the game.

touche'

but frick you anyway.

but i do not see the hurry up as a strategy as much as a gimmick. the forward pass is not a comparible. but i do realize that lots of people want offense and more offense no matter how bush league it is.

RTFA "with the exception of the final two minutes of each half,"

so if you get behind by two scores in the 4th its too fricking bad

god damn this would be the most moronic rule change yet.

its not even like many HUNH teams snap the ball that fast anyway.

Most just run up to the line and wait for the coach to call the play in.

the HUNH is a gimmick. it's like the "quick pitch" in baseball. it's bush league and it's chicken shite. i hope they do eliminate it. line up and play football beatch. quit being a pussy.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

I have no problem with it. Offenses have benefited a great deal the last few yrs due to "safety" changes made.. hitting receivers, etc..

It was becoming Canadian Football. Glad they're getting back to big boy football now.

exactly. even HUNH offenses don't snap that fast, but it does let the defense switch formations and personnel to go up against the offense better.

WTF?

How is it any different than a ball control offense?

They are the same damn thing with a different philosophy.

One wants to limit the amount of possessions while the other wants to maximize them.

Can you not see that?

Text from a coach on new rules proposal: "the 2 coaches on the rules committee were 84th & 106th in plays run last year. C'mon man."

Hell yeah. Line up and smash each other. Enough of this pansy get them when they aren't ready shite. Does a referee toss the basketball before both players are ready? Does the umpire let a pitcher throw before the batter is ready?

College football may yet survive.
