It’s a slap on the wrist so I’m thrilled with the outcome. It’s a complete non punishment.

Don't think this response is what you're
looking for---but yes, finally Alabama gets a
fair, measured and transparent decision
by the NCAA. Consistent ? No, the NCAA has
never been consistent in enforcement penalties.
Just one example, North Carolina ran
sham, fake Afro-American classes attended by
numerous athletes through the years for grades---
classes that didn't even exist except on paper, in the biggest academic fraud case
ever handled by the NCAA.
The investigation showed athletes enrolled in the
fake classes 167-times over several years. Of
course Roy Smith was oblivious to it all.
The penalty ? Nothing.

It's Bama Basketball, nobody really cares.

Then why are you taking the time to comment on it? Do better.

Auburn and LSU about to get worst punishment.

Other schools have much harsher punishments coming

Ours involved a coach. We did already self impose sanctions. As long as a post season ban is not included, we are good.

What if their infractions aren’t the same in magnitude or number?

I think the big difference will be that Auburn's involved an actual coach and over a longer period of time. They already imposed some sanctions on themselves, so we'll see how much the NCAA adds on.

I hate to say it but I agree. We're flying under the radar as far as basketball goes.

Whoever wrote this is a fool. The NCAA could not do anything to a university for how they handle their academic programs and why the case was basically dropped. The reason the NCAA got involved was to see if extra benefits were given to athletes but the classes involved more non athletes then athletes making it not violate special treatment for athletes.
UNC did get put on probation though by SACS, which could affect their accreditation.

Not sure who Roy Smith is but it was going on before Roy Williams and other sports as well.

Additionally, and perhaps most importantly, the NCAA praised Alabama for their transparency and cooperation.
Foreshadowing? Who knows, but Auburn appears to have at least taken similar actions during this process.
Based on how the NCAA is posturing thus far, I wouldn’t want to be one of the programs in the crosshairs that has done none of this.

Oh please. If you're going to call someone a
"fool" don't follow with a foolish statement.
The NCAA major infractions database shows
division one institutions have been punished at
least 15 times for academic fraud or misconduct in the past decade. You may remember Syracuse or
SMU academic fraud cases where the NCAA imposed
punishment to name a couple.
Yeah, as to the name, pardon for combining Dean Smith with Roy Williams. It was Smith, "the virtue
of integrity" under whose nose almost all of the
academic scandal was taking place but according
to the whistle blower, must have been the only
one at UNC who didn't have a clue about it through
all those years.

And there it is....the deflection.
