LSU fans complaining about Oats is odd to say the least.
After the two curb stompings he gave them this year, you ain't heard nothing yet!

Buzz got a nice start at College Sation. I actually think if the guy would go back to the Curly Howard look it might conjure up feelings of past glory.

There hasn't even been an NCAAT since he's been at Alabama.

Well he wouldn’t have made the tournament anyway so this is irrelevant.

There isn't a single coach in the country that has won an NCAAT game since he's been at Alabama, so I agree that it is irrelevant.

"My earlier statement that Oats hasn't won a tournament game yet is relevant to this discussion, but the actual reason why this is true is clearly irrelevant."

I get his point that bama wasn’t making the tourney even if COVID hadn’t cancelled it, but I think it’s pretty dumb to use the same measuring stick to compare Oats and Wade. Oats is on another stratosphere compared to the pear.

I could have sworn Buffalo upset Arizona in the biggest day one upset in the Big Dance. How has Nate Oats not won a tourney game?

Because topcat88 is using an arbitrary metric taken only over the last two seasons that does not include any historical or current success in any context, to justify why Nate Oats doesn't deserve a raise at this particular time.

The key will be does he want to be at a blue blood one day or second fiddle to bama football

From the horses mouth, he prefers to be second fiddle. Said he can just go in and go to work with his guys and not have to worry about the microscope

Billy Gillispie was never the same after he took that UK gig. I still remember reporters following him around after he got fired.

Billy made the same mistake Mike Price made. They had demons that you could keep in check/nobody cared to look into at programs like A&M Basketball and Wazzu Football........but those things don't work at blue bloods (plus Gillespie's teams sucked).

Another huge factor was the fit, Billy was able to basically kill kids in practice to make them better at A&M because those were not high profile players for the most part. Didn't really work like that at Kentucky.

Will not be surprised one bit to see Billy turn Tarleton St into a regular power in the WAC

That my friend would be a dumb arse move. Upsets happen in the tournament. Should UVA have fired their coach after being the first EVER number 1 seed to lose to a 16 seed, nevermind they won the ACC regular season title

Fun fact: Barney and Grimace's love child has been on the sidelines for fewer NCAA tournament games the last two seasons than Oats.

Did I say Wade was a great coach? At least LSU didn’t grossly overpay for him after he won the SEC title.
