At least LSU didn’t grossly overpay for him after he won the SEC title.

He's only making $730k more than Wade.

I don't need to see three years of posts to see what is going on here. You're talking in circles about an Alabama coach simply because he's an Alabama coach.

If this thread was about Frank Martin or Tom Crean you wouldn't have even clicked on it.

Circles yeah ok. In My opinion he doesn’t deserve an extension. I don’t make the decisions it’s just an opinion. Yet you Bama fans get all worked up because I say he doesn’t deserve it. Who cares I have 0 say in the matter.

I want to hear more about the financial savvy it took for LSU to not hand out an extension and raise to a coach who had just been caught on wiretap talking about paying recruits.

I would have waited to see how he does in the tournament before throwing the checkbook at him.

I’m sure AD’s across the country would love to have your financial advisement

No you’re an asshoe LSU fan that has been so psychologically damaged by Alabama in football and NOW basketball that it’s impossible for you to think or speak rationally about anything related to Alabama.

And the above applies to about 90% of LSU posters on this website.

Nah LSU doing pretty well in football. Three titles in twenty years with three different coaches. Didn’t need to go get an Alabama coach to return to relevance either. In basketball how would I be broken by a program that’s never been to a final four?

Wade may be. Oats may be. 2 years of head to head isn't near enough time. Each getting an SEC title and (presumably) a high seed in their first two years is impressive.

Imagine being 52-82 against a team that has never been to a Final Four

Eh, I won't argue that recruiting isn't part of coaching or get into a conversation of how Wade has "recruited" so well, but Oats has a pretty defined system that has proven to work once implemented. It worked at Buffalo and it's working at Alabama. When it comes to attracting talent yea, I think they're pretty similar. I'd take Oats 10/10 times when it comes to actually coaching though. Oats is now 3-1 against Wade with what on paper has been a less talented roster. Wade basically ignores the defensive end of the floor and that will always be what limits his ceiling.
