When they're no good, you won't see a Miami shirt, hat, anything even during the season, whereas Florida, Florida State, even UCF fans will show out no matter what their team looks like in a given year.

Miami is first and foremost about the Dolphins. The Marlins have won multiple Championships and they don't even support them. Yeah they'll show up when the Canes are good, but it's a crap city for college

Bama fans. They don't keep it on the field or in the stands. They threaten players and even shoot and beat family members over games. Then damage other schools' property and traditions. Thats completely overlooking how they act at games.

Yeah, who cares about perceptions of fan bases on this forum? What I have found is that when I go to games, fans of the opponents have almost always been nice no matter who the opponent is. Win or lose. Fans on here are not like fans at games. Not in my experience anyway.

The worst interactions I’ve ever had with a fan base was LSU in the early 2000s and it’s not even close tbh. Some dude was pissing in a beer bottle and flinging it at OU fans. I’ve heard they’re a lot better these days.
Oddly the Washington Husky fans were really bad. Some of them tried to push over a porta potty I was in.

This should be universal. Miami's fan base is putrid.
They have hundreds of thousands of 90s era garbage fans spread all over the country who come out to see Miami on the road and they're universally trashy.

I don't care for Bama, but Miami deserved the beatdown they received and made the 1993 Championship game enjoyable to watch. The Miami team was talking so much smack, wearing military clothes and acting like thugs before the game. Bama's defense lining up with all 11 defenders on the line of scrimmage and daring Miami's previously vaunted passing attack offense to throw was also crazy to see. Watching Miami's QB and Heisman Trophy winner Gino Torretta frustrated and sitting on the turf for like 15 seconds like he was playing against the NFL all stars with zero chance of winning was pure gold. George Teague running down loudmouth speedster Lamar Thomas from behind and stripping the ball away like a handoff was one of the greatest defensive plays ever. I don't like Bama but got to hand it to them for whipping thug Miami's arse.
