Not a program's fault if the year they play ND, Michigan, Clemson they happen to suck.

People just don’t get this.. or want to

Everyone is overrated except their team and the teams on their team's schedule

When you are a top 10 type team, the way to look at schedules is really just looking at ranked teams they play. Once you get outside the top 25 teams, if you're a national championship contender the quality of the opponents shouldn't matter. Beating Auburn vs Arkansas vs Charlotte... they aren't differentiating games.

Texas A&M as of this week has 2 ranked teams (right now) that they'll play. Texas and ND.

ND has 4 ranked teams I think so using your argument they're right up there with the top SEC teams? How would you rate their schedule?

Yup. To be the man you have to beat the man.
Can't see it. 3 is the ceiling unless Mich beats OSU then maybe a chance
Fair points. I watched that Miami game and ND didn’t take off the training wheels til the end of the game when they basically had no choice. If that game is played today ND would be a lot harder to scheme defensively bc their QB can sling it now and he"ll beat you if you put 8 on the line . Throw in a new DC and replacing I think 5 NFL draft picks on defense?….basically a lot of new. My point is If Beck playing instead of Stockton is worth 2 TDs then everything I just mentioned is worth a little more than a FG if those teams played now. If you flip the schedule ND probably at least splits those 1st 2 games which is not a popular take here. Bottom line ND could make some noise if they get in or equally may not be deserving .

Nobody has gotten more mileage than ND out of beating a backup QB in his 1st career start

Wouldn't the same logic apply to ND then who lost the Miami game by 3 w a QB in his 1st career start and by 1 to the 3rd team in the country by 1 point on the last play of the game in his 2nd?? Not defending Nd;s ranking, and Im not sold on them yet, but how do you defend UGA's loss last year due to an inexperienced QB w/out defending ND's loss to Miami, with a QB who had the same experience as Stockton had last year. Not to mention a brand new DC

Translation You mean a team that’s on Bamas schedule
quote:

Well for starters Miami already drug nuts on nd. The game was wrapped before the 3rd ended

Wtf?? Head to head should matter but if ND played Miami tomorrow on a neutral field no doubt who would win. 2 teams going in opposite directions

But I'd like for y'all to do your best at taking off your Big 10 homer glasses, leave the snark outside the room for this conversation and give as honest and objective answer as you can

You’re asking this of OSU fans? Hysterical

ND should barely break into he top25. Only reason they are so highly ranked is their brand and the fact that they have a TV contract exclusive with NBC

Interesting take for an Aggie fan. Biting the hand that feeds you

t is for the same reason UGA is. In state talent and proximity to talent. The one thing that LSU has over almost everyone is that they’re the only P4 school in their state so they don’t have to try that hard on in state talent. It’s not the top job because of resources, but it’s a top 5 job.

Not sure about LSu's resources but agree with this

I think most people in the industry would probably say yes

Damn. You’re right. Arky and UGA can’t beat ND but the rest of us kick their arse in modern times. Lol

Myth. Yall can talk but not so much the others
I guess this settles the whole Freeman vs Kelly debate?

Pay attention to Pitt. They have a dangerous, under the radar good team and they still play Notre Dame and Miami at home and Ga Tech on the road. They can shake the playoff picture up.

Yeah. They’re sneaky
Why did they fire Mullen again?

I dont know about that. When was the last time you watched them?Their Defense is getting better and their RBs combined for like 500 total yards last week against a ranked team with their top 3 OL were hurt lol. Gotta give credit where its due
