One of the most disappointing components of becoming an adult was realizing that most white collar people are even more incompetent than the blue collar people I grew up around.

It was the unsigned amendment for a reduced buyout that screwed USCe.

How the frick do you not sign a contract as soon as it’s agreed upon and the ink dries?

Muschamp knew his seat was white hot, so why would he say anything about the contract amendment being unsigned?

Honestly, I understand that millions of dollars makes everything better.

But getting paid that many millions to not do my job might lead to me some severe self-reflection, especially when it happens over and over again.

Like holy frick.

Did none of you pay attention to what happened at A&M with Sumlin?

I swear, current and former SC ADs must really suck at their job (Hyman, Tanner).

Oh USCe ... I guess that explains the low ball offer for the new hire.

That's all he wanted, dumbass.

Mike McGee hired both Lou Holtz and Steve Spurrier. That is an impressive run.

How the hell does a coach with Muschamp's record end up with a contract like that?

I don't know, but I'd have his agent on speed dial if I were a coach.

Any coach taking an HC job in the SEC should demand a ridiculous buyout. When you have programs that just fielded arguably the greatest college football team ever, loses most of those players to the NFL and the fans want to run you out of town because you have to reload because of a down year is exactly why you have to make them pay.

How damn stupid can you be?

Muschamp’s buyout obligation from the school remains at a bit more than $15.5 million, instead of slightly more than $13.4 million.

So Saban gets him as a defensive analyst for $0 for how many years, exactly?

The board approved the contract. Tanner and Muschamp never signed it. Tanner probably didn't sign it because it would have been pointless to do so since Muschamp didn't sign it. Muschamp probably changed his mind.

No doubt. But any SEC program who wants to be taken seriously should have an AD who makes sure a buyout reduction is memorialized in a signed contract. $2 million is the equivalent of a year's salary for 3 position coaches.

It's been happening for years. Way back when Mike Price met his Destiny at that Pensacola strip club, Alabama fired him.

Price sued Alabama and Sports Illustrated. The suit against Alabama was dismissed because, despite having been head coach for 5 months and already been through his first spring practice, Price had never signed his contract.
