Yeah Bo Wallace is probably the toughest QB we've had that I can remember. He was always hurt and never missed a game

Connor Shaw would be a good selection. Clearly not the most talented QB to ever suit up, but he showed up in games when it mattered. A 27-5 overall record as a starter at South Carolina and 17-0 at home is pretty remarkable.

Yeah, the sucker always seem to show up against Mizzou.

I'll throw Aaron Murray out there. He gets knocked by rival posters saying he couldn't win big games.

Stephen Garcia

He’s a one hit wonder, but his one hit was wonderful

I agree with Shaw being the consensus, but I can't sleep on what Dylan Thompson was able to do as a back up and as his single year as starter.

He followed up the ECU, Clemson, and Michigan games as backup with completing 60% of his passes for 3500 yards, 26 TDs, and 11 picks as a starter. Unfortunately we had the worse defense in the country that year which wound up being Spurrier's last full season as our HC.

Shaw and Thompson epitomized what Spurrier could do with QB potential. Damn I miss that guy.

If I'm picking a UT QB who was underrated, I'm probably going with Dobbs. He was legit terrific in 2016

Bo Wallace's last drive against LSU in 2013 was so brutal to watch, but it also encapsulated what made him good. He'd always find a way to keep the play alive even if it looked awkward ugly and awkward af

You could do this by team

Alabama: Blake Simms. He gets dinged for not winning a title but he had a pretty terrific year in 2014.

Arkansas: Tyler Wilson. Put up big stats on that 2011 team that won 11 games. There are only two Arkansas QBs worth a damn this decade, anyway -- Wilson and Brandon Allen.

Auburn: Jarrett Stidham. People will say Marshall, but I think Marshall honestly gets his due. Stidham has been the only other QB worth a damn since Cam.

Florida: No one. Trask will be the first QB we've recruited from high school to finish his career with the program since John Brantley. Thanks Champ and Mac.

Georgia: Jake Fromm. Everyone respects Murray. UGA has honestly had some decent luck at QB, getting decent seasons out of Hutson Mason and Greyson Lambert. Their worst QB season was probably Eason's freshman year. But Fromm is one of their most accomplished QBs in history and is getting shite on out the door.

Kentucky: Terry Wilson. He beat UF. If he's healthy in 2020 UK will be decent.

LSU: Danny Etling. People will say Mett, but I don't think Mett is underrated. Etling was solidly mediocre before Burrow.

Missouri: James Franklin. He led those Mizzou teams that won the East and was generally a very solid guy

Mississippi State: Tyler Russell. Idk, I was looking for a non-Dak name and he was solid in 2012.

Ole Miss: Bo Wallace. Ole Miss fans love them some Chad Kelly but Wallace was more reliable.

South Carolina: Connor Shaw. Probably the winner of this thread.

Tennessee: Josh Dobbs. 39 total TDs in 2016, only UT QB to beat UF since 2004.

Texas A&M: Kyle Allen. He's known for beating out Kyler but Allen wasn't that bad, either.

Vanderbilt: Jordan Rogers. Idk, he led those decent James Franklin teams. Not many options here. Kyle Shurmer, I guess.

Mett is overrated. I understand that Miles' "system" wasn't conducive to any QB's success, but he had awful games against Florida, Bama and Mississippi in 2013

Yea I mean Mett was a good QB and he had great physical tools, but he played with 2 All-Pro NFL WRs (Landry/Beckham) and a solid NFL running back (Hill)......behind a solid OL with Turner, Collins, Alexander and Hawkins. And, LSU ran a little more aggressive scheme that year than the later Miles era which let him throw it down the field to those WRs.

People look at him as the best of the bad offense era of LSU, but he also had by FAR the best setup.

Shaw.

Tough as nails and could create enough offense with his legs.

He ran a fairly conservative offense with the "game manager" tab. But they would take 2 to 3 shots deep a game with him and he'd hit a fair enough share to put up great efficiency with the deep ball (at least he had success against 3rd and Grantham).

That game he had against Missouri in 2013 was pretty remarkable. Mizzou had kicked our arse all game long with Dylan Thompson at QB and an injured Shaw came in the game in the 3rd quarter to lead a 17 point 4th quarter comeback. Ended up winning in Double OT.

One on the greatest comebacks you'll see.

Florida's is basically any RB not named Fred Taylor (because everyone knows how good he was) who played on great Spurrier teams. People forget how good guys like Errict Rhett and Earnest Graham were because of Spurrier's reputation as a fun and gun coach. His best offenses ran the hell out of the ball though.

Also...who doesn't love this touchdown pass?

I knew you were talking about the Iron Bowl when you said this. It was a nice play for sure. Unfortunately for him he was pegged as a game manager even though some of his teammates called him Vanilla Vick.

Mallett was technically this decade since he was in 2010.

Austin Allen led the SEC in passing in 2016 but regressed the next year pretty bad. Probably because he was so concussed from how shitty our OL got after Pittman left.
