2019: South Carolina @ #3 Georgia

Georgia was undefeated and favored by 24.5 points. I actually had a sales rep offer me free tickets and hotels for the weekend in Athens for the game. Did not want to go because I knew UGA was going to annihilate SC. My friends convinced me to go, and it ended up being one of the more surprising upsets I've witnessed because SC was atrocious that year. UGA has beat us like a drum ever since.

Honorable Mention: 2022 South Carolina vs Tennessee (-22)

I am biased, but I'd suspect that the UT win was more pleasing for the fans...

Tennessee was way more shocking. A team averaging 200 yards a game in SEC play hands a top5 team the worst loss in ncaa history

2004 Tennessee vs #3 Georgia in Athens.

As a 12.5 point underdog, UT went in and beat UGA in their house 19-14. UT's defense held UGA to 56 yards rushing and sacked David Greene 5 times.

The following year, UT was down 21 points to #4 LSU in Baton Rouge, and came back to win in OT.

2007 Andre Woodsons Kentucky team beat #1 LSU. Was an incredible game.

Really thought we did something special, then Arkansas did it.

Maybe recency bias but LSU over Florida (-23) in 2020 was pretty fricking epic. LSU was depleted with the opt outs and Florida was riding high into a playoff spot.

Then some fricking jackass throws a shoe.

I wasn’t terribly shocked that Cocky got us in 19 after it happened and I took a deep breath. Y’all had 2 good corners. We had a weak wr core and Coley going run run pass all season. Also Kinlaw ate our lard arse guards’ lunch all game.

I was fairly surprised when Georgia beat Auburn in 16. They were like number 8 in the country and while I didn’t think they were invincible or anything, I thought they were better than us for sure. We had lost by like 5 TDs to ole miss, lost to Vandy and UF and Tenner on that Hail Mary. Auburn was rolling. But Kirby dialed up the defense that night, Snowboard Cam had a bum shoulder, and we were able to get it done at home.

It has to be a game that really matters.

1992 - Sugar Bowl - BAMA vs Miami

Miami was going for their 3rd championship in 4 years and when these Hurricanes got off the plane the media and the Miami players themselves had decided it was just a question of how many points they would win by. Lamar Thomas, the Mouth of the South, wouldn't shut up.

BAMA players couldn't believe the arrogance these guys were showing and Duece Palmer was quoted as saying, "Don't they know we're ALABAMA?

No, they didn't, but they soon found out. Also, Miami's Heisman QB learned that ALABAMA had the number one defense in the country. When the dust settled BAMA won their 12th NC and it wasn't close.

What did I learn? Karma is indeed a bitch.

AUBURN, Ala. (AP) -- The Georgia Bulldogs did more than just spoil No. 5 Auburn's title hopes. They finally played like defending Southeastern Conference champions. With Tra Battle returning one of his three first-half interceptions for a touchdown and freshman quarterback Matthew Stafford's poised passing and running, the Bulldogs salvaged a disappointing season with an emphatic 37-15 victory over the Tigers on Saturday.

UGA unranked, AU in the NC hunt, UGA had 446 yards, AU 171

Ole Miss hasn't upset anyone in years.

I wouldn't say the 2014 and 2015 Bama victories were "shocking." They were unexpected, but not shocking, especially in 2015 when Bama kept turning it over deep in their own territory and we punched it in for TDs.

2013 LSU was pretty shocking. LSU was #6 and we had just suspended a bunch of players and still beat 'em.

That I've witnessed? 2020 Florida. From what I hear though the 1993 Bama game was even more shocking.

2000 Tennessee is an honorable mention.

Breaking Spurrier's 25 game winning streak in 1997 was awesome.

The 2001 SEC Championship game against Tennessee was also great as it would define the path of the two programs for over a decade.

that was a shock, it cann't be denied and I'm certanily not trying to pretend it wasn't. However, it's one of those things that makes perfect sense in hindsight even if you didn't really see it ahead of time.

Our offense that year was pathetic. Coley is a fricking bum. SC had a great defense led by some NFL caliber dudes at DB and on the DL. Combin all that wiht a noon kickoff and you get yourself a massive upset.

I do think that it's funny people stll to this day will say "well, remember 2019 SC..." when trying to predict us being upset by someone. 2019 UGA and 2021/2022/2023 UGA aren't anythign remotely similar.

Anyways.....for my answer I'd have to go wiht 2006 auburn as the gold standard. We sucked and had recently lost to vandy and kentucky. AU was top 5 and still had very real national title hopes. Brandon cox threw as many passes to tra battle as he did to his own team and we whooped them by 3 touchdowns. Truly shocking.

Texas beating OU in 2015.

Texas was 1-4 (finished 5-7) and OU was undefeated (finished 11-1 and went to the playoff)

That was probably the worst Texas team I've watched since I've followed them the past 22 years. Made no sense how Texas trotted out a bunch of freshmen and beat a very good Sooners team

Beating number 1 rated Oklahoma in 2010 is pretty firmly embedded in my memory banks. Pinkel had us believing anything was possible then we finally got over the hill and beat a big time opponent. The atmosphere for that game was unlike anything I've seen before it.

Muschamp somehow beating top 10 UGA in 2014. He was a dead man walking after we held Mizzou to 120 yards and still lost 42-14.

Wasn't the only time that happened under Muschamp. We held FSU to 95 yards in 2011 and still lost 24-7.
