Jake Fromm. He was a solid college QB but was borderline deified by some Georgia fans.

State Farm was probably the oddest QB situation of all time. The guy he replaced was really good and should have been given his job back, but Fromm was so solid that you really couldn’t argue it. It was just weird and hard to explain.

He reminds me of McElroy a lot in terms of the fan base praise. People love McElroy, but I think Bama fans realize he wasn’t that good of a QB just really smart and that’s why I chose JPW.

Agreed. I am also tempted to say Buck Belue because he was in fact a very mediocre passer, but he's probably not the most overrated because no one remembers Buck Belue for being a dynamic quarterback.

Herschel ran that team to the national championship, and Lindsey Scott ran a dump off pass some 85 yards to beat Florida. I am sure Belue contributed in terms of off the field leadership though.

Definitely Fromm. He was a fine QB on a very loaded team. He wasn’t a game changer and when we struggled to run the ball we had no chance.

I think a lot of UGA fans love him because he’s a country boy from Georgia.

Wilson had a great deep ball. Bo Nix for me.

Fromm wasn't over rated though. Everyone knew he was a game manager. It was on coaching to put the game on his shoulders.

Yes, when he wasn’t one hopping curls, drags, and out routes.

Very controversial but Jalen Hurts. In 2016 and 2017, Bama's passing game was non-existent against good defenses. Bama was well on its way to its own version of 21-0 if Tua doesnt come in against Georgia and Jalen's legacy at Bama would be very different

Jalen Hurts Passing Numbers Against Ranked Teams As Bama's Starter (Plus USC)

2016 USC: 6/11 118 yards 2tds 1int
2016 Ole Miss: 19/31 158 yards 0tds 0int

Most people did, but there was a sizeable chunk of UGA fans and even some in the Georgia media that thought he was a top QB and possibly even a Heisman contender.

But he was like a walk on . He wasn't over rated. Tyler Watts was an over rated Bama QB.

For Alabama the guy that comes to mind for most recent over rated out of high school would be Blake Barnett

Andy Kelly. Broke a lot of passing records, but that was mainly because Tennessee didn’t throw the ball much before his time. He was a gamer, but he threw some soul crushing interceptions.
