But it does remind me that Dale Brown should be in the conversation as most loved SEC Coach of all time.

He single handily battled the NCAA.

As a college player only? Shaquille O'Neal. Some players make you watch even if you don't care about the sport (respective to college football, I couldn't give 2 licks about LSU basketball. But Shaq brought eyeballs)
